It’s been a while since we’ve been skiing, but this place didn’t disappoint. The manufactured snow wasn’t too bad & this time of year it wasn’t very crowded. The rental equipment was in good condition. There is a limited amount of English spoken, but we were able to get by with a few English speaking employees & the trusty translate app. My 12 year old son had a 2 hour lesson with an English instructor that was great!! There seem to be a lot more intermediate & advanced runs here, but there’s one long green that was nice.

I've been to Wanlong and Thaiwoo in the Chongli ski area, about 3.5 hours west of Beijing, and Wanlong is definitely better for skiing/snowboarding. But facilities are terrible, with few hotel options. The ones that do exist are not good. Very Chinese-style, not welcoming to Westerners. Lots of smoking indoors, no food options. The pistes though, are nicely groomed and once you get beyond the bottom two runs there is nobody on the mountain! All snow is man-made because, you know, it's a desert out there (2022 Winter Olympics where it doesn't snow... great). But the lifts run well and are fast, snow is made frequently, and overall the skiing was enjoyable.

I arrived in Chong li in 2019.2 with my friend. It is absolutely freezing but it is a great place to go skiing near Beijing. It is snow quality and service is brilliant. On the first day,we went to ski and it was so exciting! In the afternoon,we taste some very special food and it was delicious and all of their food was super fresh. On the second day,we went to hot spring,it is very comfortable and I spend 2 hours on it!Although their food was very delicious,it was a bit expensive so I'd advice you that if you didn't want to make a high price, you should take some fast food when you start your trip. Tip:The night of chongli is really cold so I would say don't forget to take a coat!

Quite a number of nice slopes, that would indeed qualify as Red in France, good artificial snow, a couple of well made bumpy slopes, almost no queue at the lifts. Perfect weekend getaway from Beijing. We departed from Beijing with private car on Friday noon, took us 4 hours to reach our hotel in Chongli (Bluewish Jolly Life). Went skiing on Saturday all day and Sunday morning. Then drove back to Beijing at noon, to try and be there around 4 and avoid the big traffic jams. Was home at 5 pm.

There are many options for ski resorts in the area but my friends wanted to go to Wanlong, and we were not disappointed. There are many different lifts to take you up and about 32 different slopes to get down. It is the biggest ski resort by far that I have ever visited. We rented equipment downtown though as we heard that is the cheapest way. If you have an accident and maybe brake your right arm snowboarding, then I can tell you that you will be well taken well care of. I was in good hands at the hospital in Chongli because they mainly deal with injuries from skiing and understood quickly how to help me. Good thing I brought a book with me on our trip and that the cafeteria had coffee... and that I could take the lift up and down. There are restaurants on the top with different kinds of food and warm drinks.
