What I believe was the best of the three falls along the Deep Creek Trailhead. This waterfall is approximately 0.8 mile from the parking lot along a fairly smooth trail with mildly moderate upgrade until you reach the area of the falls. As you approach the falls you will be required to descend a short path via poured steps to... More

EASY HIKE 0.7 mile to a nice waterfall. Walk an additional 200 feet to see the rapids above the waterfall from a wooden bridge. Along the walk/hike you also pass by Tom Branch Falls on the far side of the stream. Lots of benches along the trail to sit back and enjoy the falls or the rapidly flowing stream. Juney... More

Easy trail. Lots of people. Beautiful setting. *Had strollers, dogs (even though signs all over said no pets) and people of all ages.

This waterfall is easy access from the Deep Creek parking/picnic area & campground. It is visible from the Indian Creek trail. I trail ride in this area frequently & you can have your picture taken on your horse with the waterfall in the background...a rare opportunity for equestrians.

A nice loop hike of three waterfalls. Easy hike. Option to hike/bike/horseback. The site is also easy to find. If you are looking for a more strenuous hike, then this site is not for you.

The walk to this falls is a nice walk. Not a lot of incline, a wide gravel road, and scenery on the way (you will pass another falls on the way). Worth the walk to go see. Make sure you continue past the first bridge, take the right trail when it forks (there is a sign) and the steps down... More

This was just off a very wide, easily accessed trail. The area at the bottom of the falls was almost inviting for a quick swim.

We visited Deep Creek several times in Mid August while staying in Bryson City. The weekends are very busy with hikers and tubers which makes parking a challenge. During the week the crowds are lighter making parking is much easier. The main trail to hike to Indian Creek falls goes along Deep Creek. This is wide and mostly level. The... More

Indian Creek falls was my favorite of the 3 waterfalls on the Deep Creek Trail at Smoky Mountains National Park. We enjoyed Tom Branch Falls on the way these falls but this one is wider and has more water flow than Tom Branch Falls or Juney Whank Falls. The Park Service does a great job maintaining the park and the... More

This was our first visit. Came in blind. Loved it. Great camping/tent location with walking access to excellent tubing river that has an 80 ft waterfall nearby. The access road coming in from Bryson City, NC has multiple camper locations, rental cabins and even a few inn rentals, plus multiple businesses that rent tubes for floating. Restrooms and changing rooms... More
