Beautiful...once you get there...

Looking at Google Maps from the Airbnb villa we were renting in Fayence it looked like you could drive very close to the bridge and want (~10 minutes). In actuality it wasn't like that. The road was closed by a locked gate and you had to park on the side of a fairly narrow road and walk. There were three paths, the road (that was blocked), and two paths through the woods...one marked with yellow markers and the other with blue. We took the blue path and it was very long (~2.5 miles, ~4km) and steep. It honestly wasn't very well marked and a lot of the time there was no coverage (or just one bar of 3G) so Google Maps really didn't work. I would recommend downloading this area prior to getting here so you can use Google Maps off-line. There were a lot of flying, biting insects and the mosquito repellent we were wearing didn't work at all! Once at the stream and bridge the trials and tribulations of the journey were forgotten. There were some brave teenagers jumping off the top of the bridge into the stream and the small waterfall was beautiful. The stream is COLD and there is a current. The bridge is also very slippery so be careful. Several people fell and it is steep. My Teva sandals were slipping a lot and they are supposed to be good for traction on wet rocks. The walk back was harder, obviously, because it was all uphill and there were a LOT of complaints from our 9 and 7-year-old sons.
Bring a lot of water and snacks! We honestly didn't have enough. There seems to be several places to park that were closer to where we found so look around.

Beautiful stream and bridge

Worth the walk to see the river but not an easy walk from the Montauroux direction. Wear trainers , take lots of water and go early. Water I s beautiful, very cold and whilst shallow very fast flowing even in the height of the summer

A hard walk -50 floors down and up according to the I phone so not easy for the young, elderly or those with mobility issues

Worth the effort

Starting at the Stade Municipal and using Google Maps you genuinely can’t go wrong. It’s a 30 minutes walk there, the second half down a steep, rocky track. Once at the river it’s breathtaking. The photos here and elsewhere genuinely haven’t been Photoshopped - it really is that beautiful.

The walk back is slightly longer and lung bursting if you’re not reasonably fit. But it’s a couple of hours well spent.

Don’t forget your camera.

worth the Hike
Apr 2018 • Couples
Take plenty of water for the hike. This isn't as easy to get to as I would assume, the road down is kind of rough, you can go the other side but that is a steep hike down. We had done the steep hike and it was worth it, but it was not easy at all. This is worth the hike through, it is truly a gem.

View of river and surrounding countryside

Nice relaxing afternoon with a good view of the area , not too difficult to find and the river eventually feeds into a large lake now a reservoir , rather low for the autumn

It's a nice trail to walk on.
Don't miss the entrance of the trail! were route 13 & 14 split! it's hard to see.. If you have google maps, it can guide you well.
The bridge and small 'beach' have alot of people there. But is you walk 5 minutes passed it, you can sit calmly/alone next to the river..

Wear good walking shoes!
And take some water!

Must do if you like walks and nature
Jul 2017 • Family
Lovely place - nature at its best - no pollution, clear cold river water - excellent place for a swim away from the crowd in a beautifull setting - mind the walk however...

Worth it but not super special.

Short walk, some stairs but should suit most people. Nice view but not superspectacular, nice platform for pictures. Not possible to have a swim.

Wonderful colours, like something out of Midsummer Night's Dream!

Outing with the camera club - very enjoyable indeed. Relaxing, and in April, not too warm.

Took the car down to the car park, but do beware, the road has broken up badly, so it is a very slow and careful drive down not to ruin the underside of your car. A 4x4 would be ideal!

Sorry but your information is wrong. The road to go down there is prohibited ! You can only walk to see "Pont de Tuves" and the departure point is at the stadium. Thank you to pay attention to this information because you risk to break or damage your car and to be verbalized..

Got lost in the woods for 3 hours
Jul 2016 • Family
Ok so before you decide to do this make sure you know exactly what and where you're going.

Im 30 went with my boyfriend and his 12 year old son and two dogs. Was unprepared had no water and we just parked up at a random place by a path where we saw a sign to pont des tuves. We parked up where google maps told us to go. We started walking saw another footpath sign for pont des tuves so thought all good. There are white and red markings on rocks which are helpful.... until you reach a cross path all with red and white paint. Not knowing which way to go left or right we went left and unfortunately it was wrong.

What should have been a 30/40 minute walk turned into 3 hours of being lost in the woods. Its very steep on the way down and the path became pretty natrow and almost non existent. We all wore flip flops. Bad idea. I got scratches and cuts up my leg not to mention giant ants. We reached a river at one point and the drop down from there was about 10 ft. It is very dangerous if you dont know where you are going. And in 30 odd degree heat not good without water and two dogs. The dogs were obviously thirst as they jumped into the canal and panicked when they couldnt get out. Its quite funny now but at the time was not. I have to say though some of the views we saw when getting lost were incredible.

I think there is a better way to get there than what we did but if you happen to go where we did (we just put it in google maps) and you come to a cross path please go right. It should take you down some very long rocky steps. Takes about 30 minutes. The way back is hard work in the heat so take a drink and suitable footwear. I felt like i was climbing a mountain.

Pont des tuves itself was lovely. Unfortunately it was a but ruined by our ordeal but still nice. Cold water. Take a towel. Theres caves there too which sre cool. It seemed really busy with teenagers diving from the bridge.

If your not very fit its probably not for you.
