Testour has tourist potential ; it has interesting aspects. Most importantly, its story that it was founded by Muslim and Jewish fugitives of the Spanish Reconquista in 1492. The mosque was closed, but we could still walk around and, especially, look at its minaret, which is very Andalusian. Quirky too to see the clock reading backwards and some stars of David on a mosque . . .

I went for the first time to visit this mosque last Sunday. I was bewildered by this accurate counterclockwise clock on the minaret of this mosque.
The mosque was built by the moorish who wanted to remember the times in Spain and decided to this amazing clock.
The mosque is worth visiting for its architecture and history. Make sure your are covered. May be a local guide would be helpful n case your are bothered at the entrance.
I highly recommend the visit.

The Great Mosque of Testour is well worth visiting. It is noteworthy for the Star of David motif on the minaret which signified the friendship between the Muslim and Jewish communities of the city and the shared history of being expelled from Spain and Portugal at the same time during the Inquisition. As I was visiting from Sarajevo, this was especially meaningful as Bosnia's Jewish population was also expelled from Spain and welcomed by the Ottomans (who ruled both Tunisia and Bosnia at the time). I was able to enter the mosque - rather there was no one around so I took off my shoes and went in. There was nothing to indicate that non Muslims were not allowed.
