A superb place which is little known.
To get there you have to enjoy walking, either from El Cotillo or from the Lajares roundabout. There is a possibility of getting closer by car but the road is bad and sandy.
The small sand crevices are beautiful but fragile and need to be protected.
You need +/- 2 hours and above all don't forget to take water, it can be hot.

A little known but superb place.
The easiest way to get there is to take the road from Lajares towards El cotillo and at the roundabout go straight ahead via a small sand road for +/- 1km.
A maze in the sand of great beauty. Not always easy to navigate.
A great experience. Not to miss !

These geological formations are magical. Let your mind sail and walk in these corridors, it’s beautiful

Do not bother. It has been taken over by aggressive motocross riders who have very badly eroded what should be a beautiful site. That and the noise they make. So sad to see such an important environment ruined by a few. Can never be recovered.

Not sure who should be looking after this treasure given how important it is?

This was unfortunately a big disappointment. It is a rocky path with rock formations that are not particularly unique or interesting. I love nature but this was a let down. Also there was graffiti over a lot of the rock walls and bikers came through.
Also, the reviews say you can drive in a standard car to the south entrance but this involves 30mins of 20mph rocky road so if you have a rental this is definitely a bad idea.

Interesting for a geologist, but the route is at least 2 hours go and 2 hours return under the sun. There is no shadow. Risk of sunstroke. Bring absolutely water and hat. Go early in the morning.

Well advised and guided by friends who know the region well, we explored this lost place just a few kilometers from Lajares. Access is not easy, the road quickly turns into an increasingly narrow and sandy track, no signs but it is possible with an ordinary car.
The scenery is grandiose, made up of parades in crumbly rocks dotted with small caves, stony hills which invite you to climb them to better discover the landscape.
Be careful, however, to make sure you finish before sunset so as not to get lost, take a drink and ideally download a map since the place is not covered by telephone networks.
Too bad some idiots are damaging the place by carving their names in the rock.
