Spotted the tower in its picturesque location next toi the church and went for a closer look. Access was available even at 8.30pm and we enjoyed the view from the first floor however the stairs that continue up ended at an opaque window. The house...More

Open all the time and free in. Ruined remains of a tower. Can only access a little of it going up the steps but a sweet little place to visit.

It's not much, merely the entrance to a lost house, but it is old and a nice ruin. Sitting next to the lovely St Nicholas church, beware here, the spiral staircase leads to nowhere.

A beautiful old ruined tower which has access to the 1st floor via a steep spiral staircase. Lovely views over the river and countryside. There is a river walk below which is very pretty and also lovely to walk along.

We visited the Mamion Tower on the way to Thirsk. We spotted it belonged to English Heritage and was open to the public. There is a small car park, donation required, just down from the small road that leads to the tower so it is...More

A tiny place off the beaten tracks but well worth a stop. It is free to visit and has some amazing views from the first floor. Quite an atmospheric place.
