Lovely place to visit
Jun 2019 • Family
This is a beautiful spot that is kept in good shape by volunteers. The let down is the amount of dog muck all over the place that irresponsible dog owners think its ok to leave behind for someone else to pick up...same with the bags of dog poo! Wipe it up and take it home!

Lovely Experience
Jun 2019 • Friends
Following a visit to High Batts Nature \reserve we stopped at Nosterfield on the way home. What a pleasant surprise - hundreds of birds to see from strategically positioned hides. Some were outside, others internal and very spacious, comfortable and ideal for watching the huge variety of birds which were at home in Nosterfield. Believe pets allowed as area enclosed.

Great for bird watching.

This area is a converted quarry and is home to many species of birds. It is a great place for a walk or picnic and the opportunity to spot some interesting birds, but remember you binoculars.

Nothing Special

Another 'created' area for our native wildlife to be disturbed. Dogs should not be allowed on this site and any further decelopment should be questioned. Leave it be.

Well worth a visit

This is a relatively new site but one that has been developed in a clever way. The hides are luxurious and are equipped with easy to use windows and shutters as well as sheepskin upholstered benches!
The water level tends to be low at this time of the year but this does encourage waders.
I recorded 48 species yesterday.
Make sure you combine your visit with some time at the viewing point at the nearby quarry.

Heavenly place for walking the dog.

Great views and above all peaceful. Nearby woods also provide lovely contrast to the lakes and ponds. Many comfortable bird hides.

good for bird watchers - not so much for a stroll

stopped by to see what is here. It is a managed site (formerly a quarry). Access is limited to viewing paths which extend along two sides of the area - I'd say so that we can look but not interfere with the birds' habitat. There is an interpretation centre with viewing hide beside the carpark with other hides to the left and right. I noted an "in car" viewing area - helpful for those who want to or need to stay in their vehicle but are there to enjoy the scene.
