Nice hike from Anse Marcel to petite cayes beach. You can park in Anse Marcel and then walk to the trailhead, marked by a chain between two posts on the steep road that leads into the town. The hike in is on a paved/dirt road...More

Quite the hike to get there but well worth it. Crazy to see how different one beach is from the other. One is soft beautiful sand the other nothing but rocks. Great hike and place to spend a few hours with almost a completely private...More

This was a family outing with pre-teen kids. The hiking trail from Anse Marcel is fun running about 3km in each direction, and you get to experience the wild life of St-Martin that you don't typically see in the agglomerations. The beach itself is very...More

The hike to petite cayes is a single track trail that follows the waterline for much of its distance. There is a bit of a climb in some parts, especially along the beginning from the parking lot near the dump. Wear sunscreen and good shoes....More

This is what all of St Maarten looked like before the mega boom in construction. I lived on the island for a decade in the early 1980s; back then there were still quite some places that were unspoiled. Nowadays, it seems every square foot has...More

The trail, at least from Anse Marcel, has great cactus nd other plant life, with signs identifying the species. The beach is very secluded and pretty, not totally protected from surf, but most people swam comfortably when we were there. Bring water and hiking shoes.

Hi, when we went there earlier this year, there was a nude couple on the beach. I don't know about "legal", but it appears to be done. It's a seldom visited place, as you have to walk for a bit to get there, I doubt anyone... More

A good portion of the walk is on rock so I think risk is twisting an ankle or falling more than anything else. If she/he is strong, has good balance and strong bones, should be fine. Just be sure to bring a lot of water... More
