Was very very interesting for me but I guess it wouldn't be everybodys cup of tea. There are toilets there but no café and the shop was not very well stocked. It would have been a very impressive building in its day

The Asland Cement factory was at the heart of the Catalan industrial revolution and is now a museum. There are extensive exhibits on the history of cement, the factory and the cement making process all housed in a restored industrial space. After that you walk outside to see the remains of the rest of the facility. All the information is in Spanish and Catalan but ask for a set of descriptive sheets in English. That said, the visual nature of the displays gives the gist of what is being described. While one can drive to the museum (actually nearer La Pobla de Lillet than Castellar de n'Hug) we'd recommend taking the narrow gauge train (Tren de Ciment) from La Pobla de Lillet. If you do this then plan carefully as everything closes mid-afternoon for lunch.
