A beautiful place, you can leave the car at the last house before the walking path starts.
The sign says 15 minutes.
After 15 minutes, a similar sign with the same text follows behind.
So half an hour's walk is more appropriate.
Once you are there, it is wonderful to swim in the cooling water.
Due to the high humidity and the hilly road, it is good to take enough water with you for the walk, you will walk the entire walk in full sun

The road did not look too safe for driving the rental car, therefore we parked the car earlier and walk for about 1.5 km to the river. The hike was not too strenuous. After that walk the cold water massage was perfect.

This isn't a huge height waterfall, but is a lovely deep pool - a great place to take a picnic for the day. It is a fair walk up/down a hill unless you have a high ground clearance 4wd. We were also charged $10 EC pp by someone on the trail for trail maintenance - not sure if he was legit or not but it was a great experience

We had the place to ourselves on a Sunday noon outing. The falls and the pool are gorgeous and it was fun to try to swim up to the falls. The water is rushing fast so it was difficult. But fun! We have nice pictures from there.
It’s about a 10 minute walk down to where it sounds like other people expected to start from. We didn’t know any different so didn’t mind. It is downhill and uphill on the return.
The man at the top was very friendly. We bought a coconut after to drink from, which he cut open for us. It was maybe 5EC? It was $10 US to enter.
The road in was a bit scary. I drove for 11 days on the island and that experience was maybe the scariest. We got stuck in the mud, very close to a drop off. I actually made my partner get out of the car (SUV) because I was concerned about going over. And she was so concerned, she took her backpack with her. We did eventually make it out but it was super stressful. Like most roads in Dominica, it’s one car length wide. So I worried the whole time about meeting another vehicle. Not a road I’d want to back up on. That said, I’d go, just cross your fingers it’s not muddy that day and there aren’t cars coming in the other direction.

pretty busy, but if you are self driving, you can escape the crowds and also souvenier harassment. make sure you use your weekly park pass. also - the trail is a loop, for some reason the tour guides didn't take their customers on the loop - do the looop for great views. Nice swim. We were the only ones in the pool

It's a bit of a walk down the last part of the track to get there but well worth the effort. Once at the pool it's deep enough for jumping in from the rocks and adults and children alike love it. I would definitely recommend a visit here.
Not for those that can't swim and you need to be able to clamber over the rocks to get there.

This was a stunning trip. If you drive a 4WD, you can easily do this yourself without a guide. Follow the signs up to the last sign where you can’t drive further; there’s a little parking spot (for 1 or 2 cars). From there it’s a 10-15 min hike which is already stunning. It’s a little challenging (you have to cross the river), but again you’ll see a sign so easy to find. As long as you don’t have physical challenges, you’ll be fine (we brought our 1,5yr old in a carrier on my husband’s back). The jump into the pool is a little scary but pretty cool. It’s deep, so safe, provided you can swim a bit 😉 There are also plenty of shallow spots to enjoy the wonderfully cool water (it’s so fresh you can drink it!) if you’re not enough of a dare devil (or for the little ones :)). We had the place to ourselves and it was just gorgeous. Recommended!

Not easy to get to but well worth the trek! Such a beautiful area with some awesome places to jump in... if you are brave enough.

Take a guide with you as it can be a little hard to find, it is a beautiful location for swimming and jumping of the rocks, we visited in the morning just before lunch and the sun really sets of the location at this time of day

Chaudiere is a hidden-gem far from the cruise ship crowds. It requires a 4-wheel drive to reach the trailhead, but the trail itself is well-maintained by the locals. It requires about thirty minutes of hiking one-way. Chaudiere pool is a very deep pool at the bottom of a short but powerful waterfall. The setting is pristine. We only saw two other people there the entire day. It's perfect for a picnic and swimming in the rainforest. For the bravest in your group, the crystal-clear pool itself is forty feet deep, so you can jump off the tall rocks on either side of the water. There are small pools of water nearby where you can easily sit and let the river flow over you. Absolutely a highlight of Dominica that is beyond the reach of a typical cruise ship visitor.
