Jokulsarlon is the most famous glacier in the area. It is unique because it connects to the sea. We did the Zodiak Glacier tour and I would highly recommend. You are on small boats and get to go close up to the glaciers. Book in...More

If you go to Iceland, and don't spend a day here, it was not worth the trip. What an incredible location - take advantage of seeing this incredible sight before it is gone.

After a 3-hour drive with a rented car raining 10 times and so many times the sun went out and I came to the lagoon. I was lucky that the sun came out and we had a mini cruise on the lagoon 50 min very...More

We drove over from south Iceland, figuring it'd be OK and worth the 2 hour drive...boy, we hit it on a sunny morning and WAHT A PLACE! The afterthought Diamond Beach was also cool., which we did first (recommended) saving the breathtaking glacier lagoon for...More

I belive that this site is most impressive during sunset mainly because of the play of lights and the colors which create unique atmosphere. It is probably less crowded during sunset or a bit after sunset. Free parking. Many seals in the area. Time to...More

The beach is absolutely incredible, but it depends on the tide to have better ice at the beach, its amazing for photographs. Its possible to see the ice go down from the lagoon and also some seals.

We loved Jokulsarlon Glacier Lagoon so much that we visited three times over three days and every time the icebergs looked totally different. They are of different sizes, shapes and textures and colours range from white to grey to black to different shades of blue...More

The glacier lagoon with its floating ice chunks is huge. There are plenty of parking spaces throughout the lagoon; a short walk is enough to see over the lagoon. The tour by boat is overpriced. Toilets are free.

Words or pictures just can't describe this place. I have never seen anything like it. We took the Zodiak tour and was not disappointed. The amphibian tour had tons of people on it, so I recommend the Zodiak tour. Yes, you can just view it...More

Hi, you will need to book in advance for sure. We had three people, booked a week in advance and had only a few time options left, for the day we would be there.

We self drove Iceland and it was easy. Plus the daylight is still long enough that you can visit the best locations off hours and be free of the crowd
