I literally spent hours admiring that landscape! One of the most beautiful places in Iceland I could visit.

It's worth the drive from Reykjavik, especially since there are so many sights worth seeing along the way. But the white glaciers contrasted with the blue surface of the lake, and mountains in the backdrop... it's a must see. Heads up, though! Boats don't run...More

A beautiful sight not to be missed. Don't let the drive discourage you, I would suggest staying in Vik overnight so not as far to drive. Saw it in November and would love to see during Icelands summer months.

Driving to this location is already testament to how amazing iceland is! Add in a glacier backdrop & a boat tour out in the lagoon among the icebergs & you have a day you will never forget. Don't forget to visit the diamond beach across...More

I was here some time ago (in Autumn), after travelling around Iceland with family. We set off from Reykjavik, and headed up the west coast towards Akureyri, then down the East coast (some roads I had my eyes closed on....not advisable for driver(!)), to the...More

This is my most favorite place in Iceland. WOW is all I can say. A day trip from Reykjavik is also possible by car, self driving is also possible. But do check the road condition. Winter time can be tricky. Diamond beach is near this...More

If you are looking for the perfect scenery for icebergs, you should not miss the lagoon. The icebergs have many different sizes and fantastic unique shapes. It's easy to access, and just right next to the diamond beach so it's the must. Do not hesitate....More

it would be about 10 hours driving total, if you don't get out and marvel at various sights along the way. a stunning drive, but very long. plus factor in time out the car doing things...I'd say it's too much for 1 day.

I did 2 weeks ago when there wasn't any snow. It was a nice drive but I wouldn't do it again. Drive out on the one day but book a hotel for the night nearby the lagoon. The Foss hotel looks really nice!
