Besides diamond beach the second most beautiful place of Iceland. Besides road 1 there is plenty of parking space to watch the lagoon and diamond beach together. No need to walk huge distances, you can see both just beside the parking area. The area is...More

Fascinating lagoon. In winter it’s full of icebergs. Whilst they’re not huge it’s amazingly picturesque. Definite highlight of a trip to Iceland

it's a must-do attraction while in Iceland, we had a warm sunny day, and the icebergs were shining and it was great! There is some nice walk around the lake with great views.

This place is simply beautiful and a must see. I came last night and did some photos in the rain. This morning there were breaks in the clouds and some nice light. I have a Phantom 4 Pro drone and really wanted to do some...More

This is an amazing, and popular, location. You are able to see the end of the glacier in the distance and between you is a crystal clear lagoon with floating icebergs. We were luck to see a group of seals swimming amongst the icebergs. At...More

We were lucky; a bright, sunny day with little-to-no wind. Reflections in the water, blue ice, blue sky, blue water and clear ice. The glacier behind winds back up into the mountains and the sight of people doing glacier walks in the distance gives a...More

Stunning glaciers floating and drifting in the lagoon. The real highlight though is the black sand beach across the street, where piece of ice and small glaciers have drifted ashore. My wife and I spend the night in Hofn and woke up early to be...More

This topped everything we did. This iced lake with iceberg is absolutely stunning. You can walk along the lake and have different angles. You can see seals in their natural habitat. It is also a photographers’dream place . There are no words to describe the...More

We drove to Jokalsarlon, stopping along the way. The drive in itself is amazing, and the lagoon is breathtaking. There were a few icebergs floating around in late March and also some washed up on the black diamond beach across the road. It is a...More

I believe it’s about 5 hours in one direction with good weather. I personally wouldn’t recommend it. I would suggest secret lagoon after the end of golden circle. It’s not too far and the last bath is at 1800. Gives you an... More

I agree with kittycatcool. It is possible to make the stop at the crash site part of your itinerary. However if the weather is inclement or there is a tour bus it would not be ideal. You could play it by ear, if possible you... More
