Located an hour drive to/ from Vatnajökull National Park and Höfn. It was such a breathtaking scenery of broken icebergs flowing out slowly to the ocean. In good weather, you will be able to snap some nice pictures.

About a 4 hour bus ride from Reykjavik you will find Jokulsarlon Lagoon. It is really just unbelievable to see. Across the street from the main lagoon is the black sand beach where you can see small icebergs floating up on the beach. You are...More

This was one of my favourite stops on our entire 11 day trip in Iceland. We arrived just after 9 AM (on our way to Fjallsarlon) and it wasn't terribly busy with only a handful of other people around. It was cold and spitting rain...More

We drove along the south coast and stopped a few times before getting to this wonderful place. It is about 5 hours of driving, but worth every millisecond. We went in January and the drive at night was a little harrowing. Weather was bad that...More

Besides diamond beach the second most beautiful place of Iceland. Besides road 1 there is plenty of parking space to watch the lagoon and diamond beach together. No need to walk huge distances, you can see both just beside the parking area. The area is...More

Fascinating lagoon. In winter it’s full of icebergs. Whilst they’re not huge it’s amazingly picturesque. Definite highlight of a trip to Iceland

it's a must-do attraction while in Iceland, we had a warm sunny day, and the icebergs were shining and it was great! There is some nice walk around the lake with great views.

This place is simply beautiful and a must see. I came last night and did some photos in the rain. This morning there were breaks in the clouds and some nice light. I have a Phantom 4 Pro drone and really wanted to do some...More

I agree with kittycatcool. It is possible to make the stop at the crash site part of your itinerary. However if the weather is inclement or there is a tour bus it would not be ideal. You could play it by ear, if possible you... More
