The lagoon is amazing. If you are in Iceland, you absolutely have to come and see it. Come early so you can take better pictures. In the afternoon, the sun is directly into your face when you are in a parking lot with all the...More

Unfortunately I was quite disappointed with the amphibian boat tour. In the price of the ticket you get a not even a half hour tour (surely not 40 minutes as stated on the site) on a crowded amphibian. It is very loud and distracts the...More

This is well-worth seeing, as ice in Iceland is integral to the experience of the country. But what is amazing is the fact that the scenery changes constantly, as the ice is continually calving from the glacier, and the colors vary with the time it...More

Really nice to see this from all angles. Definitely stop at the lay-bys and walk over the moraine to be on the beach with all the washed up ice

This is a no. 1 stop for breathtaking pictures. I didn’t do the boat tour and was absolutely happy with the views you get from different angles along the the shore.

Glacier Lagoon was one of the prettiest places within Iceland. The small glaciers are amazing if you've never seen any before. There are boat rides and ice cave excursions that you can take while there. The café serves the best Thai lobster soup that I...More

We were staying in Selfoss but decided to drive to Jökulsárlón and back in a day. It’s a long way! The round trip took us 11 hours. However, completely worth it! We did the 40 minute boat tour around the lagoon. It is an absolute...More

We arrived on a freezing wet rainy day and was in awe with the beautiful Glacier Lagoon. The huge icebergs were in shades of blue and white. Simply majestic. Spotted a seal. Definitely worth the long ride there. Wish we could stay there longer but...More

The amphibian boat ride allows you to get a closer look at the larger icebergs that are further from the shore. The boat is open faced, so tours operate based on weather. Trust the guides when a tour is cancelled because of wind - even...More

These huge icebergs break from the glacier year round filling the lagoon with diverse beauty. They were in shades of electric blue, some veined with black ash and others pure powder white that makes its home a resting place for the seals. We were totally...More

Free to park and walk around. It's beautiful! Tours don't start until May, I believe. Have fun! Don't forget Diamond Beach across the highway!
