If you are a beer expert or you have only a tenuous interest in Beer…You Must Go here.
OK I’ll come clean, I am a member of CAMRA (because I like proper, tasty beer) and the thing I least like about Spain and most other Mediterranean holiday resorts; is that Beer is a loosely applied term to a cold and tasteless liquid brewed by a monopoly of cold and tasteless breweries…
So I was quite excited when, walking down a narrow alley in Alcudia Old Town one sunny afternoon, I chanced upon an open door with a familiar smell of malt and hops wafting from it…I popped my head around the open door and couldn’t believe what I saw…Three shiny stainless steel fermenters, it looked like a microbrewery…I withdrew my head…rubbed my eyes and repeated the exercise..yep..It was a microbrewery…Only this time I was spotted by the proprieter, who obviously noticed my interest. “We are not open today, but you are welcome to come in and I will show you around, if you are interested” He said ( My other confession is that I have my own amateur nano brewery), so…yes I was interested and I was through that door in an instant.
I had a brief look at the brewery and promised to come back with the other 3 members of my group, the next day when the “Cerveceria” was open… And so we did.
This is a small capacity working brewery: Miguel brews 5 beers: A Porter, a Wheat-beer, a Blonde, an IPA and a Pale Ale. The ales are cask and bottle conditioned and are not force carbonated, I think therefore they are not just “craft beers” but fall within CAMRA’s criteria of REAL ALE.
The yard is not large but there are a few tables and sun-shades and it was interesting to note that we were quite a cosmopolitan group and consisted of the following nationalities: Two Germans, Three English, One Scottish, One Spanish, Three Dutch and two Danes and it was interesting to note that all those nationalities had at some time in history with varying degrees of success, been at war with England…and here we now were warmly discussing the Munich beer laws and the international movement in favour of real or craft ales and generally enjoying Manuel’s extremely open explanation of his brewing process and the history of how he started, which even the non-beer drinkers amongst us found interesting….It’s a funny old world!
I for one was amazed that in only 3 years Miguel was producing consistent quality beers in casks and in bottles via his small bottling plant (all cask or bottle conditioned) some of which were sold in mainland Spain and beyond.
We sampled all five of the brews, thoroughly enjoyed our afternoon and went on to a Tapas bar recommended by Miguel….Which, incidentally, sold bottled beers from other Majorcan microbreweries…we sampled those too;-)
Nice place, nice guy…Give him a visit and give him some support in his venture. Who knows, one day that gassy beer substitute we must drink on holiday may only exist in our distant memorie

We popped in this Friday afternoon, having found out about it on trip advisor.
A discrete little sign told us we were in the right place, so we wandered in the open door.
We were welcomed by the brewer and led into a small, but inviting courtyard.
Here we tried a couple of beers of theirs (cheap at €2.50) as we chatted to him about his small business.
We were shown round and talked through the brewery, which doesn't take long, but thoroughly enjoyed our time there.
A very relaxed and friendly atmosphere.
And very tasty beers!!

Saw this place when went to Alcudia in June but was shut when we went past, so this time it was a must to go and visit. This is a small brewery and upon entering you are met with the smell of malt and hops coming from inside. They 5 beers, Porter, Wheat beer, Blonde, IPA and Pale Ale. The ales are cask and bottle conditioned.
This place is worthy of a visit and is a place that has decent beer compared to the watery offerings of other brewery's of the area.

Luckily fell upon this micro brewery on a friday, being one of their open days. It is interesting to see the huge vats the beer is brewed in and although a new brewery the surrounding architecture is also interesting. The guy was informative and spoke English, which was handy. We sat in the court yard and enjoyed sampling the beers, but don't expect a small amount, as you actually purchase a bottle, but for 2.5 euros this was a real lucky find and an enjoyable hour spent talking beer. Good luck to the guys and hope it expands well.

The brewery is in Alcudia old-town, in an old house and there we found Miquel, who explained us about different types of beer, showed us how do they produce it. Finally, we could taste some of them.
If you ever visit Alcúdia (or Mallorca) and you love beer, you must visit this brewery.

Went for a beer tasting session on Tuesday and thoroughly enjoyed it. The 5 beers we got to try were all lovely and the brewer was very interesting and knowledgeable. If you're into craft beer I'd definitely recommend a trip to the brewery. Just make sure you call them in advance to let them know you're coming. They're open every day except Wednesday which is their brewing day!

Despite it being a busy Saturday evening. Made the trip to Alcudia specially; not really a problem as it is a lovely place.

We went on a friday evening before eating out. Great beers the IPA's i particularly liked and we tried amongst the 4 of us most on the menu. I hope in a few years this place will grow to be open more often and the beers found all over.

Found this little brewery while on holiday so stopped by to try some beers. I believe it's only open for a few hours on a Friday and Saturday. It's not very big inside but there is a little courtyard with some tables. The beers were nice and a friendly guy gave a little talk about the place.

This place is only open on a Friday, but if you're about it's a great place to spend a few hours. There are some great craft ales to try and the owner is very friendly. We went for a tasting session later on in the evening, which was good value at €12 each.

We're in Alcudia next year and both love ales. If you had to make a comparison to a ale from the UK what would you say. I luv London pride to jail ale so am quite easily pleased.
