Parking is a nightmare but if you can get in what rewards! Picturesque postage stamp beaches with shade and safe swimming, great restaurant and beach bar to take the pangs of thirst and hunger away.

I loved the beach at Aucanada. It was quiet and had a clear blue sea-perfect for snorkelling. The sea was warm and there was a lovely beach bar. A few nights a week there was live music at the beach bar, and we sat by the sea with drinks and snacks. In the day the beach bar sold ice-creams and slushies.

This is a lovely beach, with shallow waters. Sunbeds can be rented daily and come with a woode/straw permanent parasol for shade. There is a beach bar located in different spots along the beach. Toilet facilities are in the local hotels or the beach bar.

Aucanada is located just past the Bay of Alcudia, giving it a great location right at the tip of the bay with wonderful views across the whole resort and bay. From Aucanada you can see right around to Can Picafort and further.
Aucanada itself is a great place to relax; though if it's high season and weekend you can forget relaxing because this is when all the locals appear with their picnics, barbecues, cool boxes, deck chairs, three-piece-suites and huge families! There is a nice grassy area in the shade of a few sparse trees making it the perfect place for locals to have their bbqs.
In the winter you can have a really nice walk around the rugged coastline skirting the golf course enjoying the view of the islet with Aucanada Lighthouse on it.
In the summer you can swim (or even walk, as it never gets deep) to the lighthouse from the beach. The water is very clear here and it is a popular place for snorkelling. Check the local fauna reports for jellyfish during the summer before you get in the water. Normally this is not a problem but sometimes they come in abundance from the mainland.
Sunbathing on this beach is a pleasure due to the shingle. It is not a sandy beach, but rather a beach with dunes of old dry seaweed making for a very comfy sunbathing experience.
There is a free car park with plenty of space just by the beach. From there just walk a little further around towards the lighthouse and you will find a quieter stretch of beach on a busy day, or stay on the main beach for a great view of the bay of Alcudia.
Hint: If you see any of the big ferries either arriving or leaving the port move away from the sea's edge, if that's where you are, because these big ferries create large waves even after they have passed and you and your iphone will get soaked if you are sun bathing right at the water's edge!

As it is right up by Hotel Presidente. The snorkelling up here is very good; clear water and calm seas are the norm. Parking to the right of the fork just past the hotel. Only 5 mins from alcudia. Cycling or walking involves an arduous hill. To the east of the beach bar is a beachy area without sand. This is a good place to dump your stuff, if you just want a swim or a snorkel. The backdrop with the flowers, boats, whitewashed buildings and pine trees is worth taking your camera for.
In summary:Terrific. But busy

What a find! Superb snorkelling in the many small rocky and sandy beaches in Aucanada. Lovely traditionally Spanish village. Used by the locals, especially at the weekends, but never overly busy. Different, but lovely beach experience.

this is a great place to take a young family. A safe and quiet beach which is mainly sand with some shingle. Some distance from the noisy main areas of Alcudia and the groups of loud teenagers/young adults that shout ,drink and swear too much. Many couples and families were enjoying a good time here without any interferance. A nice place with the major attractions not too far away if you want them.

Puerto Alcudia has a fantastic beach. So why looking for a beach like Playa de Aucanada? Because it is more secluded, scenic and is nature experience. And yet just 5 minutes drive from Puerto Alcudia and has free parking. So if you are looking for a beach with no water sports, no charter groups, no souvenirs selling or massage nor bars, no nothing at all but nature - then you are on the right spot.

What a gem of a hidden beach this place is. Head out of Alcudia towards Alcudia Commercial zone then follow signs for Aucanada Golf Course. You will come to a fork in the road with a restaurant in the middle and a car park on the right. Park here and walk back around 50 meters to find this hidden gem. A small sandy beach, turquoise water and ladders etched into the rocks for you to dive in and climb out the water. Converniently is a bar nearby with exemplary service and friendly staff. I am almost reluctant to put this gem on here for fear of overcrowing but you simlply have to pay a visit.
Having indulged in that head of towards the golf course, park your car and walk along the pedestrian only section of walkway to the end. You will see a lighthouse on a small island around 150 metres away. You can actually wade out here as it is only around 3ft deep. The lighthouse was built in around 1861 and remains a working lighthouse.

Thank you! Yours friendly, Susanne, Denmark

Hello, Ive been trying to find the beach on a map but its general location is just the port. Could someone please tell me where abouts it is?
Written August 31, 2015
The beach stretches for about four and a half miles from the port all the way to the next town.In parts the tide doesn't come in as far as others so if you want to swim you have to either pick a spot where the seas far in or you can take a lovely stroll out across the beach till you reach the water.I hope that this can be of help
