A lovely little bay in the small resort town of the same name. We were here out of season so there was hardly a soul around and only a couple of the myriad eating options open. Imagine it would be a nightmare in high season trying to park and manoeuvre round the narrow streets. Definitely worth a trip down here if you are visiting this coast - it is only a few miles but light years away from touristy Mojacar

Great beach for enjoying the sunshine, lots of restaurants and shops nearby. One of the bigger beaches in Cabo de Gata and wonderful for family trips.

It's where the Spanish go on holiday ! It's lovely. Avoid peak session as it's mad . But out of session you can have the beach to yourself and it's 30degrees plus . Check your change as I do get the feeling there is a price for locals and a price for tourist . Such a beautiful place though ,we as a family have been 5 times, Fist full of dollars was filmed here . Clint Eastwood liked it so much he stayed for 7 years . Raiders of the ark was filmed round the corner . September is best because the sea is warm we made a habit of going in may , the sea is very

Stop the brown off run water running onto the beach and polluting the beautiful sea
Water from a construction site is being allowed to rundown the rambla over the beach and into the sea
This needs to stop. It will damage the beach the ecology and the good reputation of the village of San Jose
Clean it up!!!!

San Jose is a picturesque coastal village situated in a delightful bay. It is some years since I last visited but in that time there has been much development. Visiting on a Tuesday afternoon in June was pleasant but probably not quite so in July and August. Narrow streets and limited parking could then be quite a problem. It is reached on good tarmac roads but is a good 20 minute drive from the E15 motorway. The beach is sandy and good for swimming. There are a number of hotels here and restaurants are plentiful.
Recommended as a beach off the beaten track.

The marina is at the one end and is quite accessible with a few restaurants close by. The beach is raked and has a volleyball court on it. There is a large car park as you enter the village. A few other shops and bars are scattered around.

A lovely local beach in the centre of town. Has a tendency to get very crowded in high season. If you can brave the rocks to the right hand side, there are more secluded coves tucked away.

We are planning on a day trip tomorrow. Is the beach crowded? We’ve never been, hence the question. We saw how packed Barcelona’s beaches were😩. Thanks in advance.

Are there sunbeds on the beach
Written August 7, 2018
I can't say for sure as we were there later in the evening and it was a little chilly (in Spring) but I'm sure there are. The beach is wide enough for sunbeds and space for recreation. If not, just spread a towel and soak up the sun au natural ;)
