The river was high, so harder to see any animals, but we did manage to see elephants on the edge. Beautiful sunsets over the river.

Visited Wayanad and stayed in a resort next to Kabini river. But there is not much to do except in Kuruwadweep. At Kuruwadweep island, water flows through rocks at the other end where we need to walk for 10-15 minutes to reach.

The evening boat Safari was amazing. We saw elephants, crocodiles, lots of birds. The highlight of course was the tiger in the river banks, the guide was knowledgeable, in all excellent trip.

It is a nice but not very spectacular boat trip. You will see lot of birds. You can watch elephants and gaurs when you're lucky.

Evolve Back Kuruba Safari Lodge sits right on the banks of the Kabini River, which is rich with life including crocodiles, multitudes of birds, otters etc. We even saw seven wild elephants swimming across the river, using their trunks like snorkels...amazing!

While returning from wayanad , we took a detour from the state highway and reached this place, Kabini is a very beautiful place which offers you peace and break from you work life routine.

It should be visited during the rainy season or after august. We went in April when there was relatively less water so were not able to view the full beauty of this place. A must visit after august- September .

Boat safari is very costly (Rs 1,800 or so per person, particularly outsiders). as Rightly told by Longjohns, once you stay in a Kabani Resort / Lodge / Hotel, then it will be easy for you & cost effective. Kindly go... More
