Undiscovered Montenegro's Family Summer Multi-Activity Holiday is the perfect way to experience, and engage with, the natural beauty of the country. Each day held a new and exciting adventure, all impeccably organised, including the kids' (age 7 and 9) first experience of canyoning, white water rafting and canoeing - not to mention Europe's longest zipline! Ben, Emma and Vuk are all amazing hosts and guides - always thoughtful and accommodating and full of interesting snippets of information. The itinerary is very well-designed to include plenty of activities but also enough downtime so you never feel rushed. The accommodation has been carefully selected - simple but comfortable in some amazing locations with friendly staff and great food. As well as the Family Multi-Activity Holiday, we had heard such great reports of the Lake Skadar Monasteries Tour that we added it on and were not disappointed - a wonderful relaxing day on (and in!) the beautiful Lake Skadar with Ben as our knowledgable and thoughtful guide. As well as the stunning natural beauty of the lake itself, the monastery islands are steeped in history (and home to many friendly tortoises) and the nuns made us feel very welcome. We made plenty of stops on the lake for the kids to satisfy their almost insatiable appetite for jumping into water! We truly feel we have been shown some real gems of Montenegro, but with enough left to tempt us back for another trip! Huge thanks to the Undiscovered Montenegro team!

We went on the 5-day kayaking trip around Lake Skadar and the adjoining rivers, with the bush-craft experience mid-way through. It was a fantastic trip that we all thoroughly enjoyed, camping in a variety of different places and staying one night in a wonderfully unique B&B. Some of the scenery was breathtaking, and we went well off the beaten track, which is what we were looking for. Our guide, Vuk, was brilliant, and really made the trip for us. He has a fantastic knowledge of Montenegro and its history, and made every effort to make our trip as enjoyable as possible. He's also a really good laugh, and great company around the camp fire - I recommend asking for him if he's available. Be prepared for some full mornings of paddling (we usually reached the next campsite for late lunch) which can be quite tough if the wind is against you (our 13 yr old son ended up sharing a kayak with me), and be prepared for wild camping - there are no onsite facilities, but always a great place to swim! We spent our first and last nights at Villa Miela which is in a lovely spot, and our hosts Ben and Emma looked after us really well. Overall a great experience that we'll never forget.

What an amazing experience! Peacefully kayaking through winding waterways and glassy lakes, surrounded by weeping willows, flanked by water chestnuts and the flash of turquoise from the elusive Kingfishers and multicoloured Bee Eaters. The scenery was breathtaking and Bens local historical knowledge added to the mystery of the scattered villages and island monasteries. Discovering cooling fresh water springs, rope swings into the river and learning bushcraft skills combined to make our first trip to Montenegro an unforgettable experience. Thanks Ben!

First thing first - the timing of the organisers and health & safety were impeccable! Two of us are locals, yet unexperienced in kayaking and a bit unfamiliar being at the open lake, except with the boat enjoyed it to the fullest! We absolutely loved the tour - it's convenient for any level of ability, you get to swim, sunbathe, kayak, eat food with locals, rest, jump in the water at safe spots and find out many interesting facts about the lake, nature and surroundings. A big plus for me is responsible travel & activism & social impact that tour organisers carry within. :) It's perfect for a day of both adrenaline & soul rest, but we're now keen to join multiple day tours. Food with the local family was delicious, organic and you can have a nice swim break at the same place. For anyone concerned - the lake is super-clean and the water was warm, with a bit of wind here and there for a nice breezy refreshment. P.s. the exceptional care at covid19 times, please consider this for any current and further travel!

A great holiday in fabulous surroundings with typical Montenegrin hospitality. We were made to feel incredibly welcome in the lovely log cabins at Kolasin and were so well looked after. Food and drink in plentiful supply. How lovely to be on a winter holiday that provided activities alongside skiing... we were lucky enough to snowshoe, hike, visit a cheese farm (hospitality ++), have lunch in a remote mountain hut visit Durmitor mountains and lakes and generally enjoy the incredible scenery and hospitality that Montenegro offers.
