Relatively cheap place with corresponding poor facilities and stoney beach which always has waves.
The access is very difficult but very picturesque. It is about 1.5hrs drive from Volos, 45min drivinig up the hill and 45min down the hill. The road is narrow. There are very limited high quality places to stay. The number of restaurants/cafes are also about 4-5 in total. The main road in front of the beach is disorganised with some pavement and no pavement areas, no organised parking spaces, no green areas and plenty of dangerous points (such as near the small bridge) with no fences. No cashpoints, no bakery (although there is a mini market and caffe where you can get some stuff). The visitors seem to be mainly local tourists on a tight budget, tourists from Romania and Israel (it looks that certain tour operators promote this region in the above-mentioned countries). The access to other nearby beahes is very problematic as someone needs to go up the hills and then go down the hills via roads which are stiff and sometimes one way only (4x4 is advisable).
After visiting this place once, I would not visit this seaside again as there are plenty better choices in Greece. It is just not worth it in my personal view. I would visit the villages in the mountains though in summer as the weather is much fresher in comparison with Greek cities which lack green areas and mainly are made of cemented constructions. The overall prices are cheaper but you get what you pay for.

Overated place, some nice beach bars with nice sunbeds but overall beach feels dirty lots of cigarets in the sand, water is not the cleanest
Dissorganized parking, cars parked everywhere. We have been around whole greece and looking forward to see this part as we have heard its beautiful and we are very dissapointed.

Long beach with several sun beds. Beach is exposed to weather and sea swell and it is also very deep near to the shore (after two meters an adult cannot touch bottom). Would say that it is quite dangerous for children.

Hotel based here. Several on-beach sites. People are overall very friendly here. Sun beds available everywhere. You only need to order drinks to be able to make use of sun bed all day. Food prices very reasonable. Supermarket near by. A very relaxed atmosphere.

The beach itself is not bad. Kind of boring, but with a nice blue water, relaxing and calm. That aside, the Chorefto village should be avoided, because of the street dogs. Unlike the rest of Greece, here you can find a lot of street dogs. A LOT! Most of the time they are just annoying, but there are some moments they group in packs, barking to everything and everyone and beeing really aggressive. It turned out Chorefto is a budget destination and somehow charming, but the creepy dogs ruined all the good things. Avoid.

Long beach with space for everyone.
Easy access by car.
Suitable for a large group of buddies as well as for people with small children.
Possibility for sport activities, beach volley, wind surfing, snorkelling ...
Along the beach are pensions with decent accommodation, restaurants and shops for basic things.
All in all a pleasant place for peaceful vacation.

Nice beach and water but...
Lots of umbrellas and sun beds, very crowded, hard to get there, and you can’t feel all the beauty of Nature because there are restaurants and bars all over. It used to be much much better a few years ago.
Well...if you can’t go somewhere else...make a try.

I find this beach disappointing - just an ordinary beach.
can't understand the high rating, it is not standing in any "international"/must visit/unique beach.
I have visited many places arround the world including the indian ocean, mediterranian ect and that was really disappointing.

At one and a half hour by car from volos, Horefto is a beach you will love because there is plenty of space - about 3km of length and 30-80m of width! You will never see it too crowdy! The main beach is of sand and a zone of small pebbles near the water. Sea is cool and clean, gets deep very quickly and it is not a good idea to swim when it is wavy unless you are experienced and strong enough. You will find cafe-bars, taverns, bakery, mini-markets and souvenirs. Rooms to let give you a nice view to the east, lovely dawns with the sun rising from the aegean sea!
