Sea Kayaking Tour 'East Coaster'

The “East Coaster” guided sea-kayaking tour is a half-day excursion discovering Pelion’s east coastline. A mildly active tour that requires no previous kayaking experience, the “East Coaster” is suitable for everyone who is in a relatively good physical condition and likes to explore.

Meet with your sea-kayaking tour leader at the port of Chorefto. Get briefed on the activity, enter the water and become acquainted with your kayak and gear.

Paddle along the coast to the sandy beach of Agii Saranta and through the “Monk” rock’s opening, at the end of the beach.

Board off your kayak, for our first break at a beautiful secluded beach south of Agii Saranta, and a swim in the clear waters of the Aegean Sea.

Continue paddling south, along with the playful rocky coast, until our second break at the long pebble beach of Plaka. Take a swim, or simply rest before starting the journey back.

Paddle back to our base at the port of Chorefto, while enjoying the scenery.

On our fifth visit to Pilion, we were looking for something different to do. And we found it, for sure... the East Coaster! Although it is a 4-hour trip, there is plenty of time to swim and relax on two remote beaches, and to admire the coast from a different side. The sea is unbelievably blue and the contrast with the white rocks makes it a very beautiful scenery. Yorgos is an easy-going guide, but in the meantime he is well prepared and sees everything. Before setting out he gave us (there were 7 people in the group) a good briefing. The kayaks and life vests are of premium quality and there is no way of messing around with safety. Having said that, kayaking was not difficult at all. We spent an awesome afternoon. Thanks Yorgos and keep up the good work!

It was a wonderful experience!! We chose the 4-hour tour, it wasn't tiring at all though. We had the chance to explore some of the best beaches in Pelio. Giorgos is a great guide, cautious, explanatory, and communicative. He gave us a brief for paddling and safety measures, and then we started the tour. We enjoyed the tour alongside the beach and swam on an isolated beach. I strongly recommend Pelion Secrets for your kayaking experience.

I visited Mt. Pelion for mountain sport holidays, but I also took the opportunity to do a kayak tour along the northeastern coast. Me and my mtb guide were teamed up with some other tourists and we all formed a group under the supervision of the kayak tour organizer and leader, George. George first gave us instructions on the proper paddling technique, then let us pick our kayaks (of the sit-on-top type, which make balancing easy even for people with absolutely no prior experience), helped us sit on them on the water and lead us at slow tempo for a few hundred meters, so that we may get the hang of our vessels. The the real fun begun, as we started the tour proper, enjoying paddling through the sea rocks or gazing upon the forested coastline and the crystal clear waters of the sea. We made a couple of temporary stops to rest as well as a bigger break at the farthest point of our route, in order to take to the beach and swim and sunbath there. George also prepared for us slices of fresh watermelon, which he had been carrying in his vessel all along. Afterwards, we started our trip back each at their own tempo, but never really losing contact with each other. Overall, the experience was great fun, the scenery was beautiful and the sea was clear and rejuvenating, very inviting if you are into diving. George was calm, confident, very friendly and always made us feel at ease. I recommend this kayak tour for anyone visiting Mt. Pelion.

Amazing experience! The landscape is very nice and the trip very much interesting! Giorgos is a great coach. We were both not experiensed at all and we felt very confident and safe from the 1st moment. We took the long trip and was perfect! We loved the trip and we definitely will do it again!
