We did the full day tour to Bathurst Harbor, and it was well worth the time and money. Basically it is a narrated small aircraft flight from Hobart to the extreme southwest tip of Tasmania and back with a boat excursion through Bathurst Harbor (it's not really a harbor, more a wild, protected bay or sound) in the middle. The... More

We were recommended the Par Avion day trip 'A Day in the Wilderness' from friends who had done the trip and were so glad we did! In the lead up, we read the Denny King book, King of Wilderness, to learn more about the area and became really fascinated to see how he and others had made their home in... More

I did the full day trip down to Melaleuca and Bathurst Harbour. It was worth every hard-earned penny spent! The flight from Hobart to Melaleuca followed the coast line before heading inland, providing an incredible perspective of Hobart, Bruny Island and the SW as a whole. Morning tea in the bird hide was great, and I surprised myself with how... More

We took the Day in the Wilderness tour on Thursday, Jan 5th, 2017. The details of the tour are a little sketchy on the web site (probably to allow flexibility for weather conditions). But, in essence, it involves a light plane flight down the SE coast, a boat tour from Melaleuca, and some walks around Melaleuca. We were lucky, because... More

We flew down to the South West Cape region to Melaleuca last Sunday. Thomas was our pilot and guide...could not have asked for better or more. He was perfect for my kind of tourist. Extremely knowledgeable and informative when asked and shared information at the right pace and quantity. Morning tea and lunch were supplied and simply delicious. The area... More

A fabulous tour Melaleuca with our fantastic pilot/guide Thomas. I am a birdwatcher wanting to see the Orange-bellied Parrot and Thomas provided excellent information regarding this bird and others to see in the area. A must do!!

I booked the full day trip to Port Davey in the far SW of Tasmania as a surprise Birthday present for my wife. It is not cheap but it is a fantastic, not to be missed, experience. The pilots was a great source of information, the flight was amazing and the boat trip out to the ocean (it was great... More

Recently went on the Southwest half day trip to the amazing place that is Melaleuca. Our pilot Michael was incredibly friendly and a pleasure to spend that time with, not only was he the pilot but skipper/tour guide/comedian as well. Melaleuca and Bathurst harbour is an amazing place, breathtaking views all around - this tour is a wonderful opportunity to... More

Whatever tour you choose with Par Avion it's garentted to be well worth it. We took part in the Southwest World Heritage Tour to witness an amazing part of the world. Although what made the journey so much better was the wonderful host/pilot/skipper/tour guide/barista, Michael. From booking and check-in to the very end everyone at Par Avion were pleasant and... Amazing trip. Enjoyed every moment. Pristine environment. Breathtaking scenery. Sensational flight, over some of Southern Tasmania's most remote areas. Our pilot, boat captain & chef Kendall ensured we had the best day. Very knowledgeable of the whole area. Thank you Kendall & Par Avion Tasmania 😀
