Malvan, the southern most taluk of Maharashtra adjoining Goa offers serene beaches with lesser crowd and good water sports facilities. Nearest railhead is Kudal on Konkan railway around 30 km away but takes almost an hour to reach due to poor road conditions. Nearest airport is 130 km away at Goa and travel time is anywhere upto 3 hrs. Malvan is well connected to Pune, Kudal, Belgaum. Kolhapur, Panaji and Mumbai by bus. Malvan is a small fishing hamlet and hence one should not expect pristine beaches with crystal clear water at Malvan. However Chivla beach 2 km up north and Tarkarli beach 8km down south offers clean beaches and good water sports facilities including parasailing, scuba diving, snorkeling and water scooter rides. Tarkarli also has a beach resort owned by MTDC offering water sports activities which is worth a visit. Malvan is the gateway to Sindhudurg Fort. Boat ferry from Malvan jetty to Sindhudurg Fort will cost you Rs. 90/- for both directions. This 17 century Fort constructed by Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, the famous Maratha King is being maintained by the Wayari Bhutnath Grama Panchayat charges Rs. 25/-for entry inside, but the upkeep standards of the Fort is far from satisfactory. There are some permanent residents inside the Fort. Malvan is famous for its special Malvan cuisine with dominant seafood delicacies and Alphonso mangoes. Lush green meadows and the rolling hillocks near Kudal and tsunami island near devbagh beach is a not to be missed part of the itinerary. There is a rock garden in the near vicinity of Malvan which I missed.

Headed by an all-woman team with Shwetha Hule at the helm, this UNDP funded project is not too far from the beach. The women also cook and serve lunch provided they're given a day's notice. You may also buy chaklis, paranpoli and other snacks from them. After a stroll down the beach be sure to stop by Sagar Sarita beach resort for some yummy Malvani food. The fish thali is the way to go here, though they have everything form North Indian to Chinese here.

•It's a beach full of fun, like a family picnic spot but i doubt that one can swim there.
• It has a nice scenic view with birds flying around, fisherman's boats and obviously the villagers.
• It's very silent and calm here one can have a peace of mind.

yes I am sure you will not believe me but this beach has another amazing and astonishing view as if you are at Maldives. clean , less crowded , peaceful and best the blue water. I would rater prefer here to sit for hours and hours , I just felt the and imbibed the sound of waves in me . its like this ocean is saying something to me and asking me to sit and talk to him as if he has many thing to share with me and saying me to convey the message to the world to save him and keep it clean as they were before .

Vengurla beach is one of such place which is different from those crowded places. Water is amazingly blue with lots of sea birds visiting. Though there are fishermen but place is just awesome for lingering for longer hours. If you are photo enthusiast, this place is just right. Carry telephoto lens to pick best shots of sea birds visiting here in thousands.

Vengurla is south to Malvan and north of Goa.. I drove through Vengurla on my way to Goa from Malvan.... The drive is nice and scenic.. As you get out you will be driving up some hillocks and then coming down with the Arabian sea on your right at all the time.. Its a breathtaking drive.. The Vengurla beach is quite busy with fisherman but its beautiful nevertheless. The white sand texture here is very distinct and you can sit here for hours admiring the beauty of nature all around.. The beach is not too dirty and recommendable..

If you are looking for a calm and quite holiday .. this is the place to be . Being very near to Goa, people prefer driving to Goa rather than this place and hence the beach remains calm and quite !!! Absolutely FLAT beach , so safe going inside the sea for a couple of hours. Very few Behl-panipuri wallas in this area , so thats really good. Pretty descent hotels also available for stay in this area

Such pious clean fresh eniveronment. God's own place for sure. Ambundance amd hundreds of variety of Mangoes , cashewnuts, coconut, karonda, kumkum, fish, crabs. Laid back aura of 1940s quaint beautiful towns, peaceful helpful and happy people. EVERYTHING PURE ORGANIC Dolphins. Turtles, and fantastic rains. It's a real all round destination. If you haven't take a bike or car ride on the costal highway of goa -Sindhudurg then you haven't experienced anything yet
Food and quality of life can't get better. Once the chippi airport starts in Sindhudurg it's the beginning of end for Goan beaches.
