Owned by English Heritage the Hall is operated by Lincolnshire County Council. Gainsborough Old Hall is a large, late- medieval manor house built by the noble Burgh family around 1460. The house boasts an impressive Great Hall; original medieval kitchen; East and West ranges containing a myriad of rooms and a haunted ghost corridor.

We were amazed at the size of this Tudor building in the middle of Gainsborough. It is well run, fascinating and seemingly much loved. There is a very nice cafe inside, interpretation boards, displays and exhibitions as well as amazing rooms to explore.

The old hall has a lot of history to learn and is a beautiful building too. Very interesting place to visit. Also there is a lovely reasonably priced cafe where you can sit indoors or out. Fantastic service. Worth another visit.

Absolutely thrilling to completely get the flavour of a Medieval Manor. The exhibition of Wolf Hall costumes added to the atmosphere. Thoroughly enjoyed the audio tour which added information, sounds and atmosphere. Lovely staff. Well worth a visit.
