I have been to other caverns by the same owner (yes, this is a private property), but decided to go anyway since this is a national monument. It is good to bring your kids here since the Calaveras cavern is now closed I was told....More

Hate to say it, but I thought this was super over rated and not worth the time nor money, which was kinda expensive for what amounts to a short tour. The reality is they extend what is easily a quick 10 to 15 minute jaunt...More

I was interested in this but wasn't prepared for this kind of adventure. Found it while driving and following signs to other attractions. No large purse? I need my large purse. Lots of stairs? I have limitations with walking. Otherwise I would have loved to...More

The very friendly staff helped us to enjoy our visit. While we waited for the tour we wandered the grounds and the kids "panned" for gems and minerals. (You had to buy the bag but they had fun and each found several gems). The tour...More

A nice place to be on a hot summer day. The cave stays at a constant 58 degrees year round. Cool formations to see. Guides are very knowlegeable, lots of stairs and some fairly narrow places to walk through. Not too friendly for people with...More

Nice welcome from Mike. Tour guide Heather was excellent. One of the few places in the world having halactites, which are sideways- growing stalactites! Several beautiful rooms. We had a great tour round this lovely cavern. We don't mind heights so had an excellent time.

My husband and I visited here on an adult-education bus tour from nearby Rocklin. Despite spending more time on the bus going and returning than we did actually at the Cavern, we were still REALLY glad we went. The cavern is a one-of-a-kind place, with...More

Yes, a light jacket is called for and sneakers are a must. Steps can be damp from cave moisture and it is a 'climb' up and down. (although your guide offers ample stops while describing cave wonders)
