There's a good news for Thailand lovers like me , Although Phuket is an island but you can go there Via Bus or Car. There's an amazing 660-meters bridge that is called Saphan Sarasin. The bridge connects Phuket island to the mainland of Thailand, imagine you are in Krabi and suddenly you miss Freedom Beach in Phuket, don't worry the solution is very easy, go to the first car rent shop and rent a car (1200 Baht Daily) and set off for the Freedom Beach. Or assume it's high season and you can't find a direct flight for Phuket island, don't worry and listen to me, First: Catch a flight for Bangkok. Second: take a "Grab" and go to the Bangkok Southern Bus Terminal (Sai Tai Mai), it takes about one hour. Third: buy a ticket for Phuket Bus Terminal 2 (in tambon Ratsada), the bus trip takes about 12 hours and the average ticket price is 1100 Baht. And if you want to stay less than 1 week in phuket, it's better to rent a car from Bangkok airport (credit card is needed) and drive to phuket , and when you finished the trip, drive back to Bangkok and give back the Car. Crossing the Sarasin old bridge (buil in 1951) is always exciting. The 11-meters width bridge holds the name of "Pote Sarasin" Thailand's Foreign Minister.

This iconic landmark connects Phuket island to the mainland. The bridge serves as a pedestrian bridge with two watch towers linked by a walkway with a pagoda located in the middle. Ornate lamps that once lined the walkway have been removed.
The bridge is named after Pote Sarasin a former prime mister of Thailand.
It is know as one of the most beautiful bridges in Thailand which from a distance is correct. Up close it is dilapidated, dirty and smelly. Another construction that needs some sort of maintenance.
Thai folklore tragedy surrounds this bridge. Two young lovers forbidden to see each other leap from the bridge, embraced together to their death.
The pagoda provides a great view of the Andaman sea & Phang Nga Bay and the surrounding fishing village and longtail boats.
If passing stop and visit.

This was a pleasant end to the bike ride from Mai Khao beach. Fishermen were friendly and the view was quite pleasant

Cycled from Mai Khao, new bike lanes make journey much easier and safer. Clear day so good views of coast and surrounding water, boats etc. Good places to eat just over bridge plus some small shops and stalls selling fruit and seafood. Market and temple on Phuket side off southbound carriageway worth visit. Worth a visit to look, eat and shop.

We had been wanting to see this connection between Phuket and mainland Thailand and so on our last night, decided to stay at a hotel near to the airport (which is not too far from the bridge).
Our hotel arranged for a taxi (3 wheeler tuk tuk), collected us and took us to the bridge. We walked across, watched the locals fishing for their dinner, took a few pics and then had a refreshing drink at one of the small eateries at the foot of the bridge.
A pleasant experience but nothing else to do there.....

We expected a lot since it’s crossover the sea between Phuket and Phang nga province. It’s just the same size of the bridge the crossover the big river

Great views. Restaurant under the bridge on the mainland side had unbelievably great seafood at very reasonable prices. The meal of a lifetime.

I wouldnt book a tour to see it. Nothing much there. We had a scooter and just wanted to go for a ride. Pretty bay with sandy beaches. Im not sure if safe to swim as it appeared to have a current.

Great view and location to come to take photo with many people fishing around the area. It benefit to be able to speak to the local to learn the true story of love tragedy of similar story to the western Romeo and Juliet by Shakespeare.
