The approach road is very bad and narrow. Also the fort itself is badly maintained. Grass and weeds growing until head height makes it a nightmare. If you are adventurous enough to get pas this then the views are good.

The fort is one of the surviving forts in Kasargod. The structure is intact but rather shoddy management. It was completely overgrown with grass in January. All this or even worse can just not dampen the vanatage this fort offers. The fort sits at the confluence of the Payassini river with the Lakshadweep Sea and offers breathtaking views of the... This place is horrific example of imbecile and callous govt machinery. There are 10 inches long grasses all over the fort almost. You won't be able to move literally. Though nice view of river is there but no maintenance, better to say none is there to check who is doing what. Only one washroom is there in the outside. This... More

The fort has some good views from top but is maintained well. Can be avoided if you are pressed on time.

Nothing much of the fort is left, just some walls and the boundaries. But maybe this is the reason behind the picturesque and panoramic views it offers. Perfect for a laidback leisurely evening. Walk along the boundaries, feel the cool breeze flowing through the openings, enjoy the amazing view of the Arabian Sea and the beach.

A small and basic fort, not very well maintained but not dirty either. There is nothing much to see here, no guides to show you around either. Just one drunk security guard. The only plus here were the sweeping views over the ocean. Since it is at an elevation, good breeze as well, but nothing else really.

This is a short distance from the town and this fort must be several hundred years old. Can see up and down the coastline and the Arabian sea, the fishing boats both moored and storred on the beach. Nice place to visit. Local kids love foireigners and I had photos taken numerous times with the - very friendly.

The wall of the fort is in good shape and one can have a beautiful view of backwaters and coconut trees from the fort. But government is not doing anything to maintain this fort. After rains, there are lot of bushes, which if replaced with a good garden will attract lot of tourists and locals.

An earlier review of Chandragiri Fort by Indradeep R (on the 25th December,2014) has an accurate and complete view of Chandragiri fort. Just read this post for a complete low-down on the fort - which is good only for a great view of the confluence of the Chandragiri river with the Arabian Sea. The fort, of which almost nothing is...
