Kalp Kedar Temple
May 2018 • Family
This temple is known as Kalp Kedar. It is situated in Dharali town, approx 3 kns from Hardik. Only the dome is visible rest body of temple is submerged in earth. You can see the door of temple from top, which is filled with water, although the Shivlinga inside is not visible. Legend says that it is from Mahabharat era. Nevertheless, the visit to this temple is full of divinity itself. The temple is presently looked after by a Swamiji, who himself is full of compassion. So much calm and peace here. Bhagirathi river flows by the temple and the temple is submerged in river water. The temple hardly has any visitors, as this place is not known to all. Even we accidentally stumbled across this temple, as we were staying at dharali. A must must visit if you are looking for divinity, peace and calm.

One of the few temples which you can only view (only the top) as the most of the temple is below the river surface.

nobody will take you to the temple, unless you ask him specifically giving the details of the temple.

Mythological Importance
Apr 2016 • Family
Most of gangotri temple pilgrimage will skip this as awareness about this Jalmagna shivling is very limited to unknown persons. Situated near main temple area with running water from origin of holy ganga river. You can offer your prayers and wishes to Shiva lingam here.

Place is quite, soul smoothing and seems filled with nirvana.
Some pundits are available here all the time to help you in worshiping .

Kalp Kedar Temple
Jun 2015
IT is known as Kalp Kedar and is one of several temples that were there near the Ganga in Dharali. All the other temples were buried in a flood ages ago. Kalp Kedar was excavated out but is below the level of the river now so it is filled with water and you cannot go inside the Garbh Grih. Just the top of the temple is accessible. It is a worth visit for its architectural details.
