Consists primarily of local finds, including from Stratonikeia, and bones from ancient animals.

Free entry, and you will probably have the place to yourself - very welcoming

A small but an interesting one in the city center. There are 4 halls inside. Small one for gladiators was the most interesting one for me. There is a clean and free toilet inside. Museum is free as well.

A small museum of 3 rooms set around the courtyard of an old prison. Most of the exhibits have been taken from the Unesco World Heritage Site at Stratonikeia, about half an hour away by car. The quality of the work on display is amazing as is the preserved condition of the many finds, some dating back 2500 years. Highlights for me were the gladiator tombstones, glasswork and pottery. It is worth combining with a visit through the nearby lanes of Ottoman houses.

This is a tiny museum set around a courtyard near the Cultural Centre. Entrance is free and it is set around a sunny courtyard full of ancient statues. There are only four rooms and each has a different theme showing the history of the area. There are some good fossils and some beautiful pottery and textiles. However, the room I found particularly moving was the one containing the tombstones of gladiators who had died in combat. The translations of the tombstones describes their names but also how they died (and in one case whether it was a fair fight). A very real piece of history.

Small museum with some interesting, but rather tired exhibits. However, the staff were friendly and it taught us quite a lot about the early Greek influence in the area
