We were surprised by how much fun the kids and adults both had. Well priced for entry. The kids we given a question work book to do whilst looking at the exhibits, they had to find certain items we got right into it. They had a mixture of displays from different periods of time. Well worth the visit if you... More

Spend some time here if you have the chance. They are adding to the works all the time and it is well worth the visit.

Celebrating European and world cultures out in the countryside is unusual. You would expect a place like this in a city perhaps but it's unusual for Australia anyway. We went a few years ago to see the collection, then again one year for the large reenactment event and this season for the X-mas market. It was a worthwhile event and... More

We had a look through the museum at their Christmas market. Very well laid out and surprising treasures for such a small museum. Also went into the church to look at their amazing stained glass windows. Staff were on hand to give further information on their displays and it was very interesting and informative. I wish I had known in... More

We were amazed at this museum, seemingly in the middle of nowhere. Well laid out artefacts dating to many thousands of years BC. There was an open day but usually $12 per adult. Continue on to Bribie Island- about 25 min further. The tourist info centre has an excellent self drive guide- the details are very clear and obviously spend... More

The preparations for this event are enormous. The pay-off is an excellent program particularly for families. People dress up in period costume for the event and this all adds to the medieval atmosphere. Well worth a visit and the price is fairly reasonable.

We visited the Abbey Museum with a group of retirement village residents and were welcomed by staff who showed us all parts of the museum. There were many artefacts and pieces of art collected by the community who live and work there, and their shop had a good collection of pieces for purchase. Since it was close to Christmas our... It's a small, but well organised museum that's got something that will interest everyone! It's arranged in such a way that you begin with early humans, and make your way up to more modern objects. All are well labeled and very interesting. My favourite is the document/book area which contains documents and books hundreds of years old, that are extremely... More
