This tombstone dates from 1783, remembering Betty Stiven. There are theories around this woman and her death, but nothing has been proven.
An unusual piece of history. We visited here on a tour from our cruise ship visiting Scarborough. The tombstone is very close to Fort James.

Its free and of local interest I suppose.
Not a lot more to say about it, a quirky little stop to stretch your legs if on a tour.

Stopped here as part of an island tour. There isn't anything to see except the tomb that is tucked in a small area off of the road, between two houses. We found the story of Betty Stiven, interesting but I'm wouldn't say it worth a special trip.

This tombstone attraction is very near to Cocrico Inn. It holds an ancient story about incest I believe. It's kinda creepy if you ask me, lol. But worth a visit nonetheless.

Visited this attraction with my family during December 2016 as part of a family vacation with relatives from abroad; we nearly missed it though. The tombstone is tucked away in a small corner towards the end of the street. The site was well maintained with proper signage. This visit was to help my eight year old son have an appreciation of lessons he read about Tobago. It is a self-guided attraction and it is deserving of more than 5 mins of your time.

It may not appear to be much but if you are in Plymouth or Black Rock, it is worth going to see the tombstone and read the inscription. But beware, we got caught by a local hawker who threw 2 mangos into to the car, then demanded payment. Just be aware and be careful.

A tombstone in Plymouth, signposted, and tucked in the back. There are good views from this area if you walk up to the fort, where there are benches under amazing trees. You can see to Black Rock and beyond. The lady is very friendly and we bought a bamboo mug with a turtle carved on it. You can walk to the little shop, and lime with the locals

Prepare to be confused with the inscription as this truly is a mystery. However do not make this a destination, but make it part of a road trip or couple it with going to Fort James and the Plymouth area.

Hmmmm. We pondered and discussed this unique site, and decided which story we were going to believe. A first class riddle, and an interesting stop. Nope, I'm not telling you the theory we decided on. Please see pictures posted to make your own decision. This is a free stop, as most are here.
