Perfect beach for an afternoon of sunbathing or swimming (brrrr). Free car park and ATM on top of the hill. 5 minutes walk to the beach. Snackbar available at the beach for small meals and drinks. This is also where you board for a boat ride to the wonderful caves and Algarve rocks.

The Benagil beach itself is small but still nice. Most people come here for the water activities: boat ride into various caves in the area, kayaking and stand up paddle boarding. There are plenty of places near by that you can hire from. Quite a popular spot - if you like quiet beaches, especially during these covid times - this beach may not be for you. The main cave is just to the left of the beach (you have to go around one small headland). There were people swimming to the cave - though definitely don’t recommend unless you can swim confidently and be mindful of all the boats and kayaks etc at the same time. The shops around the beach were open and there are two free car parks: you’ll come across the smaller one as you approach the beach, and a big one about 50m further down towards the beach. Easy walk to the beach from both. We arrived just after 10am and still seemed to have lots of car parks but as we were leaving around 1pm it was full. Overall, a great place to experience water activities!

Incredible place! It's really beautiful. I went to the cave in paddle. A little dangerous with all the boats around and the big waves. But if you are confident, it is worth it
