We went to see the benagil caves from above and also saw the stunning Benagil beach! Even though it was Mid October you could see people swimming and doing paddle surf! A must visit when you’re in the area!

Stunning area and beautiful beaches. Swimming to caves is safe and doable. Beautiful coastal walks that go on forever. Highly recommend, out of peak season if possible.

Try to book online because it is overbooked for the same day if you arrive at the beach after 12..... swimming is 15 mins at most but beware chill ocean water.

Praia da Marinha and Praia de Benagil caves (7 Replies)
Hi, I am wondering if there is a boat tour that will take you to caves at both Praia da Marinha and Praia de Benagil on the same tour? I did find a separate tours for each beach but wasn’t able to find a combined tour. Also, is there a way to see any of these caves without paying for boat tour? Thank you.

"Also, is there a way to see any of these caves without paying for boat tour?" None I know of, unless you have a boat of your own.

The beach season came to an end this weekend just past in many resorts. I don't know about those two places in particular, but I think you will struggle. The sunbeds etc were still out today on Albufeira's main beach and there were plenty of people enjoying a nice sunny day.

Where to stay with limited time (4 Replies)
Hi everyone, A newbie to this forum. My first time to Portugal, and I am a solo traveler. I making my way into Algarve from Seville. I won't have a rental car, will need to rely on public transit. I have 3 days in Algarve. Here is what I want to cover, Carvoeiro - Praia de Benagil, Ponta da Piedade in lagos, sagres, Tavira (potentially). Where is the best (central and well connected by transport) to stay? Lagos or elsewhere?

Lagos would be the best. From there you can take public transportation. But Tavira is way out to the East. If you want to see Tavira you spend two days in Lagos (take boat trips out to Praia de Benagil and Ponte da Piedade). On the 3rd day head for Tavira and stay there one night before you head for Seville.
