A white sand beach in Ungasan, Bali, near Uluwatu.
A beautiful beach with clear blue waters. Saw people swimming. The beach was busy as a large group of school children from Java were visiting. One of balis cleanest beach where you can swim near the coral. Very calm and friendly locals. 10k per person. 2k parking.Great beach for swimming, the water was calm and beautiful. Easy setup to be self sufficient or one could indulge in one of the many beach clubs. Pradip Madgaonkar

I'm not sure if this beach has changed I'm recent times, as the other reviews are glowing. I was recommended to come here by hotel staff and found the place quite depressing. There was a lot of construction, so the background noise was power tools, and the beach even had a bulldozer on it and lots of rubble and rubbish. If you like beach clubs with loud music this place could be for you, it just wasn't what I was after. I may have caught a bad tide, but the water was fairly dangerous to swim in with a steep drop off and waves that washed you out. If you can drive here on a bike it could be worth a look, but if you're taking a taxi, it absolutely wasn't worth the fare.

You have a good long ride if you stay norther up in the island to get here, but its really worth the trip. We stayed close to Uluwatu, so it took about 20 minutes with scooter.
We ended up coming here every day, after checking out some other beaches, that were recommended, because here the water was amazing, clean!!!!! and the beach was also very well kept.
I would surely recommend it for families as well, as at low tide the water is perfect for the small ones too. Really beautiful beach! Loved it!

I visited Bali for the first time in my life with a larger group back in February. I spent 10 days on this amazing island, among even more amazing people. We were halfway through our stay when we checked out of our accommodation in Ubud and headed to our new lodging in Nusa Dua. We knew we would stop in Ungasan, at Melasti Beach, on the way to see a traditional Balinese dance performance called Kecak.

To be honest, I didn't know what to expect, I had no particular idea or expectation, so I eagerly awaited the show. I have to say that I spent the most memorable 10 days of my life in Bali, and the best part was Kecak!

This fantastic performance was the most defining experience for me, and it had a huge impact on me! The captivating atmosphere and the enormous energy I received from it caused a cathartic experience, and I was under its spell for days afterward...I will never forget it!

I am grateful to the Balinese people and the staff at Melasti Beach, who I am visible with in my profile picture! If you visit Bali, you must come here! Everyone needs to experience this!

It’s a perfect combination of heaven and earth with the wind sweeping all the trees tenderly. We were driven to the entrance where there are 5 beautiful sculptures of Balinese dancers decorating the road. A short distance away, is the signboard of Pantai Melasti and a swing. From this signboard, I can enjoy the scene below the sun. It’s such a serene feeling. Due to time constraints, we did not go to the beach side where the club is located. Therefore “I will be back “
This place is a good place for photography. Bring a change of clothes and plan for a half day photography session here. You will see great results.

Melasti is a nice quiet beach at the moment with pristine sands and surrounds.
Cost 2000 IDR to head down and sun loungers and umbrellas are on the beach to hire. If you are looking to escape the crowds this is it! Its well worth the look just for its beauty alone.
Happy Travels!

Crystal clear turquoise beaches. White sand. Lounging on beach lounges. This is a gem found at the bottom of limestone cliffs. A family friendly location. There are a number of beach clubs there including - white rock, minoo and tropical tempest.

On this visit we returned to Melasti Beach. The beach is beautiful with clean white sands and a spectacular cliff-face. There was a low tide when we were there so visitors could walk quite a bit in the direction of the ocean and it would have been still shallow.

We were not there for long but we heard an announcement that there was going to be a kecak performance in the evening.
