Visited La-aw Lagoon on a near perfect day. We had a local guide. Well worth the visit. Be prepared for a steep climb in a ravine. There are some bamboo railings but generally the climb down is not for young kids and the elderly or overweight. Well worth the effort

This was our first time to visit Kinatarcan on a day trip from Bantayan Island.
Weather permitting its best to leave not later than 06.30am for the 1 1/2 hour boat ride to Kinatarcan Island. Best to take a picnic breakfast and lunch with afternoon snacks with you because there are no restaurants anywhere to be found on the island. This is a back to wilderness expierience. No shops, no pharmacy only a few small stores
Laaw Laggon is a must see. Be prepared for a very steep rocky trail in a ravine going down to the lagoon. Be even more prepared for the challenging climb back up! Not for seniors!
Hagdan Beach is a great picnic spot accesible by boat or some 200 steps down to the beach. Again not for Seniors or those unfit
D'Clam Cave is another activity but due to blackouts the cave was closed when we visited
If you enjoy a bit of adventure and like the idea of strenuous climbing Kinatarcan is a fun day excursion from the crowds

I negotiated a private boat with Kuya Titing Ph. 09305684872 for 2000 pesos which I felt was reasonable. Another operator (Glen Ph. 09754511058) outside Kota Beach Resort offered the same for 1700 pesos and wanted me to cancel my booking but I refused.
When we arrived at Langub beach I was immediately approached by a tricycle owner. I wanted to visit La-Aw Lagoon and Pasil beach. He wanted 400 pesos. I said no thanks and started walking down the beach. After about 200m he caught up with me and offered 200 pesos to which I agreed.
The last stretch to La-Aw Lagoon is along very bumpy coral road. Entry fee is 50 pesos. Even though I was the only person there it didn't look inviting to swim in.
Pasil beach on the other side of the island is a far nicer looking beach.

A beautiful little island. Laaw lagoon was beautiful place but a hike to get to... the beaches were wonderful. Only method of getting around is by motorbike. You can hire a driver and sit on he back.
