We were on an auto tour of the French Riviera and this was one of the many spots which afford beautiful views over the Riviera. Simply stunning.

Tete de Chien La Turbie France translates into Dogs head, is a high outcropping of rocks in the Alps with spectacular views of Monaco.

Visit here on a clear day for stunning views. You can park easily on the side of the road and follow the path to the viewpoint. You have amazing views of Monaco one side and down the coast to Nice the other side. Monaco is clear in the afternoon and Nice direction clear in the morning. Follow the sign from the Cap d'Ail to La Turbie road. You wont be disappointed!

Small road leading to the parking lot, then a small walk towards the edge of the cliff. The view of the coast is very impressive!

If you've got a car, I can highly recommend this little detour. From this viewpoint you can see all the way from the other side of Nice in the west, over Monaco below you and far into the distance in the east (assuming the weather is good). You get a real feel for just how small Monaco is as you lean over it from a height of about 500m. I suffer from vertigo a bit but I was OK with it, but the walk is a bit rough underfoot so not recommended for people with young children or those not too sure on their feet.

The view is worth the sometimes hairy drive up the mountain, once you arrive at the top the view down to Monaco is breathtaking ( please be careful it is a long way down) also it can be clear one moment and clouded in the next.
But well worth the time

Whilst my partner and I were in Monaco, we wanted to find a vantage point that overlooked the city, and I knew there was a place due to AS Monaco's football Instagram account where they announce a new player overlooking the city and the football stadium. My partner found this place on TripAdvisor and advised we drove up here when we were about to leave and my word, I'm glad we did.

Firstly, if you're a keen driver who likes tight corners whilst going up a mountain, then the drive will certainly entertain you as it did me, as the drive up to Tete de Chien was magnificent with lots of tight bends to swing your car around whilst climbing at a good pace, however when we got closer to the top we were undecided on where to park. We did manage to find good parking although you can just drive straight to the top and park up there which I wish I had done in hindsight although I didn't mind the 15 minute hike to the top as the views were simply stunning!

The bonus was we arrived just before sunset and my word, the views are probably stunning during the day, but at sunset it's something else, especially if you go with your significant other. We took plenty of selfies whilst taking pictures of the landscape for memories we will treasure forever and it's a must see if you're visiting Monaco!
