So other reviewers already said it: nice and rewarding, not hard if you can climb slight inclines. We didn't see many other tourists, and those we did see were either hardened outdoorsy types OR young parents with children, illustrating the universal appeal of this crater...More

Took my children 5 and 6 on the walk. It was short enough when we started just north of Lajares. Parking next to camel-riding place. Nice view and cute chipmunks. Took perhaps 1,5h there and back.

Even on a hot day, there is a cool breeze here. We had a great walk with clear paths and a rewarding rise to the crater.
