My husband and I decided to go deep sea fishing while staying in Phuket at the end of January. We found Phuket Fishing Charters and spoke directly with Steve who was very responsive and friendly. We booked Phuket Pro with Alex as it is the fastest fishing boat in Phuket! Alex made this experience so fun for us! We caught several tuna and a trigger fish. In the afternoon we went to a secluded beach off of Racha Noi and went snorkelling while Alex prepared lunch for us. The snorkelling was amazing! The water was so clear and there were so many fish, this was a great extra touch to our fishing trip. After snorkelling we ate fresh sashimi that Alex had just prepared for us with the fish we caught...incredible! Alex, thank you so much for the amazing experience, so much fun!

We chose this operator because it is a speedboat, relatively new. We were not disappointed. As we depart from the jetty, we zoomed past all other fishing charter boats and headed to the southern Ko Rachai Noi within an hour. This gave us more time for fishing and exploring the area. The entire trip was from 9am-5pm.
Alex is Russian and speaks good English, He has been in Phuket for 10 years.
We managed to catch a small tuna and had tuna sashimi for lunch. Other fishes caught included a few garoupers which we brought back to our resort restaurant for them to cook for us. We tried trolling, jigging and bottom fishing. Didn't managed to catch any big fish though.
This boat is good for those in a small group (up to 4 pax) who want privacy and has the budget.

Alex is great to go out with speaks good English and tries his best to find fish,we caught thirty tuna (very small) but the seas were kind and the company good will be back next year a bit more prepared.

Our boat captain said the owner only gave him one bait fish for our group probably due to contacting him at the last minute.
Our group booked in advance and paid Alex, who was supposed to be our guide for the day. He claimed he was busy and couldn’t go and then left our group on a different boat with only one bait fish. We didn’t find out about this until we caught a fish and the captain said that was it for the day with regards to catching anymore species of fish that only hit on live bait.
Shame on the owner Alex and the captain. We were visiting for a once in a lifetime trip to Thailand and Alex showed how cheap and unreliable he is dealing with clients.

I don’t quite understand how moderators miss such reviews. When there is exactly the same, the ordered review in Russian. But from a different account.
My real customers can vouch for my team. Never in life do we use 1 bait. Not only that, we do not use live bait, only a tuna clipping or Balihu.
But on the other hand - if such reviews are ordered - then we are doing everything right, obviously the competitors cannot put up with this)))

Four of us had a top day out with Alex...... This guy really knows his stuff...... Excellent boat for a full day trip...... the weather wasn't the best on the morning we went and half of the fleet either didn't go out or turned back....... the swell and chop was no trouble for this boat though as it handled the conditions well ....... Alex really knows his stuff ...... we caught a variety of fish, had a nice lunch and snorkel in a sheltered bay next to one of the offshore islands...... This is the quickest boat available in Phuket which means we fished long into the afternoon and still passed most of other fishing boats as we sped back to shore....... I would definitely do another trip when I return.

Things got started to go a little pear shaped when it became apparent the forecast for our fishing day was not looking great. We had been assured by our contacts that if the weather was looking rough, and conditions were deemed to be unsafe that we would not head out.
The day ultimately followed this pattern. Two of us throwing up over the edge of the boat. No fish to be seen. Alex shrugging his shoulders. Fishing lines dangling harmlessly in the wind. Rain coming at us from all angles. Alex shrugging his shoulders. Boat rising and falling like a roller coaster. Alex shrugging his shoulders.
After several hours of aimlessly circling the bay and with a third of our group starting to deteriorate we made the call to cut this adventure short. The weather was worsening and it was clear we were not going to land any whoppers.
Alex can't he held responsible for the weather, especially in September. However we were disappointed that:
A) The trip was not cancelled ahead of time given the forecast
B) We were not informed until we were out to sea that the fish would be scarce
C) We were required to pay in full (although we understood the staff required compensation)
D) We were not offered a make-good day
The flipside of this experience is we do have a good story to tell our wives and other mates. It is not however the sort of story we were hoping to gloat about when we were planning this activity.

We had an absolutely fantastic experience fishing with Alex. We booked through Steve at Phuket Fishing charters, who was knowledgeable, honest, and friendly. He helped us understand what options we had and what each would cost. Steve’s driver picked us up punctually and took us right to Alex at the Chalong pier. We started out, easily passing all other boats on their way out for the day. We trolled from about 10am to 1pm, catching 8-10 smaller bonito tuna and 2 yellowtails, which were bigger. We stopped for lunch at a beautiful secluded island, and snorkeled around the reef while Alex and his mate prepared us an amazing lunch of fresh sashimi, fried rice, vegetables, and some delicious homemade Russian dishes made by his wife. That afternoon, we trolled for several more hours and caught about 8 more yellowtails, all great fun to catch. We decided not to pay extra to go jigging, but Alex showed us briefly how jigging works and told us what we might catch. After a brief break to rescue some stranded divers from another boat, we trolled for another hour and snorkeled off Racha Yai. When we returned to the dock around 4:30, we were the only people carrying fish home with us.
All in all, this was an amazing deep sea fishing experience. Alex is extremely knowledgeable and knows some great spots. He was helpful but not too hands-on and quickly adjusted to our level of fishing experience. It is not the cheapest fishing option on the island, but you certainly get what you pay for: a high-quality captain and a boat that goes fast enough to get to the best spots. And compared to the cost of deep-sea fishing in the states, it is a bargain. We highly recommend Steve at Phuket Fishing Charters and Alex at Phuket Fishing Pro for anyone looking for a great deep-sea fishing experience in Phuket!

Went on a fishing trip with my two sons (14 and 16 years old) with Alex' Phuket Fishing Pro. Had booked the top of the line trolling & jigging course. When we arrived at the pier (transport both ways by the way was excellent), Alex was so kind to tell us that jigging wasn't good the day before and that conditions on the day of our fishing also did not seem great for jigging so he recommended the cheaper trolling only (also full day) course. To me that is a honest and professional attitude that Is exceptional; a very big thumbs up for Alex. The trolling was great: All in all I think we caught close to 20 different Tuna (Bonito, Skipjack and also Yellowfin), with the largest being 2.5kg+. Unfortunately we did not manage to get a Sailfish but that is fishing.... Alex is a great guy, very patient in explaining how to be better when fishing, and quite entertaining. Also his 'captain' is very friendly and knows his way around. We have been on quite a few fishing trips, this easily was among the best and I shldn't forget the great sashimi lunch which went well with a special salad his wife had prepared (as well as the fried rice). I highly recommend Alex if you are looking for a great day out fishing in Phuket.

We had a fantastic day of fishing with this charter. Caught so many tuna and mahimahi that we had to release tons of them. Had at least 3 delicious fresh fish that evening. Alex were very nice and knew what they were doing. Would recommend 1000%!!!
