Really good choice of tasty halal street food in the market. Good place to experience the old part of phuket around it. Old town has some nice stylish cafes too. Go early experience old town before going into the market.

Perfect place for shopping and local food
Wonderful place for shopping and street food and entertainment. Most importantly it’s very clean and very well organized as a street Market . Many life music by locals and local kids . Prices is cheap so it’s the perfect place to do your shopping and everything is available. There is a wide range of food to enjoy and experience.

The best place to visit on Sunday ONLY
If you stay at Phuket on Sunday, I think this walking food street is a must visit place. It is go along with the Phuket old town, there are a lot of historical buildings. Let you remember the old time of Phuket and that's a amazing view during the sunsed time. Street Food A lot of choice, but mostly favour are those BBQ pork and ribs. And the stick , beef also great. Even you can find some Japanese and WESTERN food here. Drinks and Fruits Fresh and very resonable price too with different choices Shopping After you take the food, you can spend some time to do some shopping. Here you can find soso hand craft stuff and also some local cloths * It is amazing Evening time on Sunday time when visit this street market.

    Great experience!
Really enjoyed the market. Very different from all the other in Phuket but also Bangkok. Is has a really nice vibe, there’s a lot of entertainment ( karaoke, live music, a clown show, break dance show). Also the food seems really nice and different from what we used to see in Thailand. You can find nice second hand stalls, local clothing shops and art stalls as wells. If you looking for a different experience you should definitely check it out. By the way, if it’s raining don’t worry. The market still runs, except for the music.

    Overcrowded and underwhelming!
Unfortunately the ambience and experience at these markets was lacklustre! They were so overcrowded that you couldn’t enjoy the street stalls as you were swept along in the crowds. The markets were way too crowded and way too busy. I suggest that if you do want to explore these markets you go early, when they first open. I was very disappointed.

Too bad there were sooooo many people you could barely walk when we went. Otherwise the charming colorful houses, the stall and the ton of little and interesting food stalls are great. Good vibe and feeling.

We arrived at the Sunday market about 6 o’clock it was comfortable to look around, unfortunately by 7 ish it was packed out and no way could you really look at things properly. I did ask the price of a few things they were all over priced from other markets. This is a market mainly set up for tourists. Be aware that a taxi that brought you to the market that cost 200 Bart’s is likely to cost more than double to take you back.

This left me a bit disappointed. This wasn’t as interesting as I thought it would be. Certainly lots of interesting food stalls but all the other goods for sale weren’t that interesting. The street entertainment I found a bit odd - in particular one local belting out John Denver songs as part of his repertoire and children performing Karoke. I would have liked a little more variety in the items on offer - I was looking for souvenirs for family but nothing really suitable

Friday 14th February we were on an Explore Phuket Tour, which included sightseeing in Old Phuket.

One of the attractions was the Sunday Walking Street Market. Although we did not visit here on a Sunday, there was sufficient open and going on to give us a flavour of the place.

We strolled along past vibrantly painted buildings, ornate fronted shops & restaurants. There was some amazing wall art adding to the atmosphere.

Shops along the street were displaying fabrics of every colour. Tourist shops were side by side with local hardware and general stores.

We visited a number of arcades filled with stalls with their merchandise on display.

There were a plethora of bars, cafes and restaurants along the way.

This market is situated in the nicest part of phuket old town. Either side of the road are tastefully restored colonial buildings which enhance the atmosphere. The are multiple street food stalls as well as souvenirs and every couple of hundred yards would be some form of street entertainment. It was very busy, probably the most people we have seen in one place for a couple of years, but covid measures were still being met with temperature checks and masks.

We were staying in Phuket for four days and heard about the Sunday night market. We spent hours sampling food and listening to the entertainment. I am buying a few odds and ends. There were so many people very very crowded with a very good experience very colorful one of the funniest night market, so I have been to anywhere in the world. A must see. If you’re staying in Phuket.

It is my first time on Phuket and I am horrified by the mass tourism that you can find here, but there are places where you can still find the actual culture of Phuket. And that is, for example, the night market on Thalang road in Phuket town. Nice vibes and great food.

If there is one market you have to go to in Phuket, this is it! Thalang road is closed to vehicles and becomes a walking street. There is so much more than just the usual food and clothing stalls. You can find unique pottery pieces, unusual jewellery and many other treasures here that are not found elsewhere. There is live music and such a great vibe here. Be sure to go early when it opens at 4pm if you’re looking for a a parking spot nearby.

I visited on Sun 25 Jul 21 at 1630. No street market taking place. I can only assume that covid has meant that it is suspended at the moment.

The place does get a little busier in the evening - more bustle, but it isn't the full street market and it isn't closed off to road traffic.

There are a lot of stores that are closed. Quite sad.
