The day began with a trip to a local market. Here Get, our tutor, led us through the different stalls showing us the ingredients we would be using later at the school. Her English was excellent and she explained everything very well. It was truly...More
Get and James created a perfect cooking experience set in an idyllic waterside location. Everything about the day was enjoyable and we learned so much about Thai food and cooking. Highly recommend to anyone wanting to experience Thai cooking in a way that is fun...More
Wonderful program. We started off early in the morning so we could visit the market like the locals and get to feel the atmosphere. The guide (who later turns out to be our chef) is knowledgeable and attentive to our curiosity. We did return to...More
This was an amazing experience had not just by myself but by all who attended. Chef James was both entertaining and knowledgeable about the produce. The market tour offers a rare insight on how the local people purchase ingredients, and the beach side location is...More

Our chef 'James Bond' entertained from the moment we met at the Phuket market to explore the local Thai ingredients and food culture.
The location of the school on the beach at Mueang was sensational and a great back drop to this exciting cooking school....More
Had a wonderful cooking class! Got shown around local markets and then went to the cooking school and learnt how to make 5 different dishes! We were so full after eating all of the amazing food. Great English speaking teachers and learnt so many things!...More
Me and my boyfriend are just back from our very first visit to Phuket and are now well and truly in the depths of the post-holiday blues! Flew to Phuket via Bangkok from London Heathrow with Thai Airways. No complaints about the service although they do use their older planes on this route with no seat back entertainment which seems strange for an 11 hour flight. We stayed at Indigo Pearl @ Nai Yang beach for 14 nights in a Pearl bedroom and we absolutely loved this resort. We weren't...More

Phuket Thai Cookery School vs other options (3 Replies)
Hello all, It will be my first time in Phuket in February, and I'm arriving Thursday afternoon around 12pm and flying out Tuesday afternoon at about 5pm, so just a short trip. One day is planned for sailing with Captain Mark and perhaps a half day visiting Kok Chang elephants? I'm interested in doing a cooking class of some sort and have read a great review of Phuket Thai Cookery School (from Pete), but was wondering how long the course was - specifically the one that takes you to the...More

Hi Supers 2 Our course they picked us up at the hotel at 8am & we got back about 3.30 - 4pm. We did the course which went to the market, the others may be shorter. So plenty of time to do things afterwards, but probably not eating!!! We didn't bother about dinner that night & went & did some shopping & had a few drinks in Patong. On of the things we liked about this course besides the cooking was we got to see areas around Phuket that we wouldn't have otherwise gone to eg...More
Hi all, Just booked a the Thai Cookery Class with the highly rated Phuket Thai Cookery School... quite excited!! In their follow up email to me they said the usual Sireh Island location was closed for renovations and the class will take place on on Patong Beach. This is what they wrote: We please to inform you that our main outlet (Sireh Island) have to temporary close for renovation and will be finish in February 2012 so we need to take place in our branch at Patong Beach. Has anyone...More

Just as a follow up - they just informed me that the Patong location is not on a beach but in a hotel. Do you still think it's worth it? I know the cooking and food is the main draw, but doing it on a beach would have been nice!
