About John Gray's Sea Canoe
After 12 years designing and developing one of the World's most highly awarded Ecotourism companies, John "Caveman" Gray goes his own way by forming "John Gray's SeaCanoe" with 18 of his most loyal and experienced guides. "After 12 years in Phuket, the experiment ran its course and I was packing for Polynesia," says Gray, "but when all these guides showed up, I had no choice but to stay and do another start-up."

My family (husband and two kids age 11 and 13) just completed a 2-week vacation in Singapore and Thailand. The day we spent with John Gray’s Sea Canoe was our absolute highlight! Our guides, Uwe (I don’t think I’m spelling his name correctly) and Charlie were amazing. Uwe has worked here for almost 30 years, which says something! The whole team went above and beyond to make sure that we had an incredibly special day. All of the guides were friendly, playful, and accommodating. We always felt safe and the food - buffet lunch and dinner - was delicious. The scenery was stunning and lagoons we visited were breathtaking. The nighttime bioluminescent plankton was a must-see. I can’t recommend this group and experience highly enough. It was a truly magical experience!

We did the Hong at Starlight tour. Everything about this tour is excellent! It is very well organized, and the food (lunch & dinner) is delicious and comes in a buffet, all you can eat style. The boat crew has friendly, knowledgeable guides who speak decent English. Exploring the sea caves and lagoons by canoe is an extraordinary experience. The evening/night program gave a chance to partake in a cultural Thai tradition, and to witness the bioluminescent plankton at night - so cool! We highly recommend taking this tour with John Gray Sea Canoe!

Did this with my partner. This is a must do day activity in Phuket. They provide pick up and drop off at your hotel. A Very awesome experience. Everything is well organised. As well as more than enough food to go around on board. Whole crew were also very engaging. Love the whole team! You will be smiling and laughing throughout your tour. Our canoe was rowed by Aupsy or Oppsy. Very engaging and with a big sense of humour. (Not just him but the whole crew!) Love the beautiful caves. I will definitely do it again when I visit Phuket. Highly recommended!

This was an awesome experience & well organised day trip. We got the recommendation via word of mouth. The food was very fresh, tasty & plenty to go around. All dietary needs where well looked after & double checked prior to serving. The guides are friendly & genuinely enjoy their jobs & wanting you to have the best experience ever. The caves & scenery speak for themselves. Just beautiful. I loved the the fluorescent plankton (doesn’t come up in photos sadly). Highly recommend the day out.

This is my third trip over 15 years with John Gray and it remains one of the best days out possible. The scenery is stunning, the guides are friendly, fun and knowledgable and Great care is given to the ecology that you are visiting. This time I took my 9 year old and he loved it. Also the food served on board is outstanding and the facilities are good. I recommend the Hongs by Starlight tour, as the last cave at sunset is an experience you will never, ever forget. Go.
