What an amazing day. My husband and two friends traveling from the US took a day trip with Isabella Yachts crew to Phang Nga Bay. From beginning to end it was a dream. We were staying in Patong and booked on NYE so we were slightly worried about traffic but we shouldn’t have been. Our driver Komsan picked us up right on time and provided quick and comfortable transfer. We were greeted on the boat by Nalin and crew with cool towels and drinks and set out to explore the islands. They brought us to various private beaches and places to swim and provided us impeccable service the entire time. They also made us a lunch reservation at a resort on one of the islands and the the meal was to die for! On our way back to the marina they had fruit and champagne for us to enjoy. The boat is extremely comfortable with a day bed to lay shaded or in the sun and also space up front. The boat moves quickly through the water and we didn’t feel even an ounce of sea sickness (which wasn’t that case for the other boat we chartered). Although it may be a little pricier then some other options we could not imagine thinking twice about booking this experience again. Just do it you won’t regret it!

we stayed in Thailand for 17 nights and did 5 trips with Isabella Yachts. Each trip was fantastically beautiful, and very well organized. The first week we stayed in Khao lak (Devasom Resort) Isabella and her team came to pick us up there twice. From there we did the Similan Islands, it was spectacularly beautiful (seen dolphins) The other 3 trips we did from Phuket, (Phi Islands, Racha Islands and Krabi). We would also like to thank the captain Adun for his hospitality, a wonderful man and captain. If you like luxury on the water, combined with the wonders of Thai nature and islands, I can only recommend Isabella yachts and their team. everything is perfectly arranged with member for every detail. We have already rented many yachts, but no one offers such a service hospitality.

We have just had a day on a catamaran and I can say this is the best family day out you will ever do for a group of up to 20 people. The staff were amazing and arranged our who day. If you want to make memories and have a super day with you family there is no better way to do it than this. I could recount what we did but just make your own fun!!

Be very careful about booking with this company if you value your privacy. They routinely take videos and photos of people they rent (“private”) boats to then forward/post the photos to what’s app and possibly other social media platforms, which are forwarded between the crew of the boat to Isabella Yatching then on to 3rd parties (without consent). The photos of me, my parents, my kids and other guests most of whom are very private and not on social media were forwarded to third parties by Isabella’s company without consent (maybe other people as well we will never know for sure). She said it’s for safety reasons but Im still waiting for a reply as to how sharing on WhatsApp with third parties unconnected to our charter of us eating and my kids swimming helps with our safety in any way. Photos of my conversation with the owner Isabella attached.

I have spent a week sailing with Isabella and her team and it was honestly one of the best trips of my life! Being away from everything and just in contact with nature eating great food and having loads of drinks by the ocean. We were lucky enough to see dolphins and whales. What an amazing experience that highly recommend🙏⚓️🇹🇭

After spending nearly $3000 on a boat trip, we were expecting to have an incredible day on our own private charter boat sailing around the islands of Krabi. Instead, this was the low-point of our vacation and one of the scariest experiences in my life! Not to mention the a total waste of our time and money.

To start off, the booking process via e-mail’s was confusing and not very clear. It took about two weeks of back and forth e-mails before confirming the reservation as I kept having to ask them for information that should have clearly been provided in the first place. It was up to me to ask about transportation arrangements, cancellation/rescheduling policy, deposit/payment information, etc. In other words, if you don’t bother asking, they won’t tell you.

One of the biggest red flags was the fact that some of the images on their website are deceptive as they are not representative of the actual boats used! While doing some further Google research, I found actual photos of the vessel. To my surprise, the interior was completely different - instead of the minimal interior depicted on their website, the boat looked untidy and covered with unappealing animal print rugs, pillows, and bedding - a far cry from the sleek, minimal boat I thought we would be chartering.

This should have been the first warning sign as I find this to be quite deceptive, but I emailed them anyway to see what they had to say. They acknowledged the photos on their website were not images of the actual boat we would be chartering. In their e-mail they agreed that the real photos were not as appealing, which is why they used other photos for their website. They also reassured me that the animal decorations were no longer there - which was enough for me to proceed in booking the boat trip. After all, knowing the owner is Swiss and being Swiss myself, I expected only the best of service.

Finally the day before the trip, I was expecting to receive some sort of e-mail with the pick-up information for the following day - we had no idea what time the car would arrive, who the driver was, etc. After not receiving any communication during the first half of the day, I called them to ask the details of the pick-up. After confirming the time, they said they would send me an e-mail with the driver’s information - which I never received.

After arriving at the marina, I was expecting a formal greeting by the boat staff, a discussion of the itinerary, and a tour of the boat. Instead, we were left to wander the boat on our own. (Which by the way, still had the animal decorations we were assured were no longer there!) At no point did the captain discuss where or what we would be doing, in fact we had to ask constantly where we would be going next. There were a couple of times where we had to tell the captain to change destinations because we didn’t want to stop there - which was a total waste of our time.

Another point to mention was how slow the boat was considering the destinations we wanted to see. At no point did Isabella Yachts let us know that is would take us over 4 hours of traveling to and from to get to where we wanted to go! They should have suggested a faster boat to maximize our time at each destination. We literally only spent about 20 minutes at each of the 4 islands we went to. The rest of the day was spent traveling from one destination to another.

After nearly 2 hours, we finally reached the first island. We did some sightseeing on the inflatable raft which was cool, but after returning to the boat, we were surprised to find the crew already preparing lunch. At this point we weren’t hungry as it was still early in the day - it would have been nice if they at least asked us if we were ready to eat. In fact, we would have preferred to eat lunch during the cruising portions of the boat ride (of which there were many) instead of wasting an hour at one of our destinations. All in all, we got to swim for less than 10 minutes before being rushed into having lunch and setting off for our next destination.

Soon after leaving our first island, it began raining quite heavily and we noticed some huge thunderstorm clouds heading our way. Out of curiosity, we asked the captain if we were heading towards the sunny areas away from the thunderstorm, and instead he said we would actually be heading directly into the thunderstorm. At that point we thought maybe the rain would clear and it wouldn’t be so bad, but it was a total nightmare!

All of a sudden we were in a torrential thunderstorm with strong gusts of wing, zero visibility, and lightning! The boat felt at times as if it were to tip over. At one point, one of the crew members almost fell overboard while trying to close the windows . My friend and I were terrified and confused as to why we would be traveling through such a storm. We braced ourselves and tried to keep calm all while wondering why Isabella Yachts would subject us to such dangerous conditions when other parts of Phuket had clear weather!

After an hour or so cruising through this terrible storm, we arrived at our next destination - Railey beach. Still raining, we tried to make the best of the experience, although at this point we were over the boat trip and just wanted to head back to Amanpuri.

After leaving Railey beach, we headed to the first of a few islands near Krabi. Before getting off, the captain asked us if we had money to pay for the park fees. Of course, only to make a bad day worse, we hadn’t brought sufficient baht with us to pay for the fees! At no point did Isabella Yachts make it known to us that we had to pay at each island destination - and even so, with the $3000 price tag, I would have expected them to cover these minimal fees.

After not being able to get off the boat on the first island, we continued on to the next island which also had a park fee. By then, instead of passing up another island, we decided to call Isabella Yachts during the middle of our trip to ask them why they hadn’t told us about the fees - they’re response being “of course you have to pay!” After agreeing to cover the charge for us, we were finally able to get off the boat and wander amongst the tourist for a few minutes before the crew telling us that it was time to head back to the marina at 3pm.

Still overcast and raining the whole time, we headed back towards Phuket only to enter another torrential thunderstorm which lasted for 2 hours. By the end of the trip we were sea sick and so happy to get off the boat. We jumped off and headed straight back to the Amanpuri spa to try and relax after such an awful day.

I definitely won’t be recommending Isabella Yachts to any of my friends in New York or Zurich. Their lack of communication, care, and foresight made for an awful experience!

*Below are actual photos of the boat interior compared to what we received.

Dear Brian, I am the Swiss owner of the Isabella Yachts Phuket, my name is Isabella. You have never spoken to me before since you were in contact with Romain who managed your enquiry. First of all I want to apologize and wished you could have informed us before leaving these 2 horrible reviews. Romain did send you an email the evening after your trip asking for your feedback which you never replied. We would have been more than happy to discuss all your issues in person and offered any kinds of compensation. But instead you and your husband/wife cowardly did not reply Romain email but instead registered first time on tripadvisor only to leave us two horrible reviews, I find this a very cowardly move. On another note, I want to inform you that Romain is no longer working for us since the 20th of July and we have a much more professional team now. He was under a trial period of 6 months which he did not pass. But I checked all the emails between you and him and I am afraid not all things you are saying here are actually 100% correct. Out of 40 tripadvisor reviews we have 37 excellent reviews and only 2 are horrible - these two are from you and your wife/husband for the same trip but written in a way that makes them look two separate trips. We have been operating in Phuket for over 4 years and never received such horrible comments from any client. You and your wife/husband decided to rent one of the biggest motor Catamarans we have in our fleet that is actually for up to 20 passengers. The price was not 3,000USD but was 2,500USD + 300USD for extra fuel to go to Railey in Krabi. The night before the trip Romain told you that we would have refunded you the 300USD as Krabi was not accessible due to cloudy weather. In our website is clearly stated that we do charge extra for fuel outside of Phang Nga area. The price for Phang Nga full day is 83,000THB + 10,000THB for Krabi, or Phi Phi or Racha etc. The night before the trip we always confirm if the charter is possible to do according to our captain who is the only one who can decide this. Romain kindly emailed you saying that Krabi mainland was not possible to do but instead you would have gone to Phang Nga, as discussed via email and I quote: Brian: "Additionally, I am noticing in the invoice that it says Phang Nga Bay. We don't want to go to Phang Nga Bay, just the Krabi peninsula and Islands. Is koh Hong considered Phang Nga Bay? Curious too why the Krabi islands have the additional surcharge?" Romain: "Yes Ko Hong Krabi is in Phang Nga Bay, as I explain you there is a surcharge for the Krabi peninsula as it is more far and the boat use more fuel. I prefer to put Phang Nga on the invoice as I am sure that you will be able to go to Phang Nga without problems, for Krabi if there is some waves you may change you mind, in this case I will give you the 10,000 THB back." Once I read your horrible reviews I immediately requested a meeting with the captain, owner of the boat, chef and hostess to clarify the situation. I then discovered that once you boarded the boat you told our captain the plans had changed and you were going to go to Krabi. This was a very sneaky move from you and our Captain always listen to our clients if they wish to stay longer in an island or less we let our guests do that, we don't force people to do anything. The boat is yours for all day, you can do whatever you want, but we always recommend to listen to our suggestions which you clearly did not. We do have clients who enjoy the rain and they request our captains to bring them to the rainy islands, you did this and he brought you to Krabi instead of Phang Nga as we had recommended if you wanted to have a pleasant day. So yes our captain went to Krabi as you requested. And you even ended up going all the way to Krabi peninsula after Romain clearly told you not to. We have some clients who enjoy rain and rough seas and have a lot of experience onboard. You and your wife/husband from the comments and the way you did not listen to Romain I can clearly see that you have no ideas about boats and Phuket. Hence why even more you should have listened to our recommendations. You charged the destination when you boarded and even asked our Captain to bring you to Phi Phi at a point where he had to refuse as he noticed you were already panicking for a bit of rain in Krabi. Phi Phi has huge storms during low season and very last minute and unpredictable. We don't actually go to Phi Phi between May to October as its at full open sea. A lot of Thai speed boats companies do to anyway to Phi Phi, but then you find them all vomiting and at the hospital with back issues. We are a different kind of charter company, we only want our guests to enjoy the entire day and journey not just a tour which brings you from A to B. When I spoke to the captain he told me there was no storm, only some rain twice during the day but nothing dangerous. Plus on this big Catamaran you had plenty of space to stay completely dry as it has a huge saloon and 4 bedrooms each with ensuite bathroom. Its also one of the most stable boats we have given is 16m long and 8m wide. From the way you are describing this trip it seems like it's the first time you were going on a boat. Yachts are not cars and Phuket is not Zurich, next time I recommend you to listen to people who have more knowledge about sea, weather and boats unless you want to have another bad day at sea. If we recommend you Phang Nga Bay there is a reason, but you forced the captain to take you to Krabi this was totally your fault not ours hence why you did not have the pleasant day we had offered you. Regarding the complain you had about us misinforming you about many details, I want to point out that Romain sent you our contract together with the invoice to pay the deposit. In our contract all details are clearly stated. Destinations, your day, rules, boat, what's included etc..From what you wrote here it seems you did not even read it. Romain the evening before told you that was not possible and only Phang Nga was ok for that day given the weather. As I can read from all emails between you and Romain I can see that he kept on telling you Krabi was not possible and you were not accepting this. We are experts and professionals in this field, most of our clients like yourselves have no knowledge about seas and boats hence why you should have listened to a Romain and not force to captain to take you were you want.

We rented through Isabella July 4th. All I can say is, what a mistake. We would've been better off kayaking.

July 4th - we get on the boat. As we get on my friend and I had expressed our interest in Phi Phi island and Krabi to The captain. After looking ahead and pointing out there was a storm in the direction of krabi to the captain, he insisted on riding into the storm into Krabi. Instead of taking us into the sunny direction of Phi Phi, we were in for a horror! I don't think I have ever experienced more anxiety in my life than being on the sea through a raging thunder storm with no precaution, no life vests, nothing. Not to mention the boat crew was made of an underage worker, (the captain's daughter) whom was only 12 years old.. at one point she almost fell out of the boat.

To anyone who enjoys safety and comfort I'd STAY AWAY. After calling our agent, Romain (Isabella Yatch) and letting him know how bad things were.. Romain downplayed our concerns and told us it was sunny where he was... in Phuket. Clearly money was the only concern, after having paid 3,000 for a boat ride in Thailand during low season - I guess we expected better service or perhaps an itinerary. Not to mention we couldn't visit any of the islands because the company forgot to mention the park fees were not included. Absolutely ludicrous. The only good part of this venture was perhaps the minivan that drove us from the Amanpuri to the Marina. Thanks for ruining our 4th of July.

Just got back from a one week trip on a catamaran with Isabella Yachts with a local skipper and chef. Isabella and her team are amazing and their knowledge of the local islands is second to none. The skipper was super professional and his calm, stoic demeanor meant that we could relax, have a glass of rose and always feel like we were in good hands. The chef made incredible meals and spoiled us rotten. The catamaran was fully stocked and had excellent gear like snorkels, fins and The Manta.

I've visited Thailand many times and love it very much - but seeing Thailand in this way is a spectacular and unforgettable experience. And if you want to do it in a five-star manner with an excellent and experienced company, you absolutely should book with Isabella Yachts. I highly recommend!
