One of my bucket-list locations was Phi Phi Island and Maya Bay. The tour was great however we were very disappointed by the state of the beaches. It was littered with rubbish.

I took a Speed Boat tour to Phi Phi Island. The number of passengers is about 15 to 20, all are easily sitting comfortably. It is a full day tour and they take you to about five-six islands and about nine sight seeing spots. The beauty of these islands is mesmerizing. The places you shall see you have seen only in movies. There are many operators who do these full day tours, they are generally honest and offer good value for money. They take you to swimming beaches, water sports, snorkeling and variety of places to see. It is a must visit if you visit Phuket. It is one in a lifetime experience.

This tour was a great way to get an introduction to Phi Phi islands. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. Overall a good way to see a special part of Thailand.

As a large group, we chartered our own speedboat but still went to the same attractions as other tours. There is nothing charming about phi phi anymore. We were taken to some top snorkelling spots which were so overcrowded with people in the water, and boats everywhere that we asked to move on. Finally we pulled in at phi phi and were herded into a large canteen for a buffet with about three hundred others. It was more like a prison canteen than an idyllic island restaurant. The beach was ok, but the bar was taken over by a large group of party goers on a continuous tour. Monkey island on the way back looked ok, but again, too many boats and people to get in. Phi phi has had its day, time to find another as yet undiscovered destination.

Did this day trip last week to Phi Phi islands. Maya Bay or ‘The Beach’ was sold as a highlight - it was the busiest beach I have ever seen - thousands and thousands of people! And our tour guide told us it was quiet! Tour guide and crew were great given the circumstances. Lunch was a buffet and very poor - not enough food, poor quality. No plates, glasses, cutlery! For the price they need to do a lot better!
