Museum in post office complex
Feb 2020 • Friends
During our vacation in Phuket we had visited the old Phuket town and the Philatelic Museum is located at a walking distance from the more popular Trick Eye Museum. This is located in the compound of the Phuket post office and showcased collection of stamps. This museum remain closed on Sundays.

Air-conditioned!

This Museum was located right across our hotel. As it was free and cool so went to see the exhibits there. We were the only visitors there so it was not at the top of most tourist’s agenda. There were a few collection of stamps and a few posters. Saw everything in 5-8 minutes. You can easily give it a miss if it is out of your way.

Post Office Museum

It's a post office museum. The best place to learn the development of Thailand post office. Closed during public holiday

Heard there wasn't much to see inside, but didn't get to see anything, it was closed at 12pm. So went to the post office next door and got some stamps. No one understood a word of what I was saying and there were no postage related phrases in the app. Managed to get some stamp series.

It's a little bit out of the way, about 10mins from Soi Rommanee, should've taken a tuk-tuk instead of walking. Ask for the post-office, museum is in the same complex, no one knows about it.

Small but nice FREE museum
May 2016 • Couples
This museum is great. It's air-conditioned, its interesting and its FREE. The lady working there was very nice and we were the only visitors in there. All the signs are in English as well as Thai. The only reason I didn't give five stars is that I wished there was more of it! Very nice place, well done Thailand Post.

Maybe we went to the wrong place?

One large room with few posters. Was expecting to see the history of Phuket via stamps but not a stamp in sight?

Not much to see but ok

The place alone is maybe not worth a visit. But it is only a 300 meter walk from the Metropol or the Royal City Hotel on the way to the old town. Entry is free and it does not take more than 10 minutes to see everything.

Not worth a visit - nothing to see
Oct 2012 • Solo
I am a long time stamp collector - so when I saw this place - I thought it might be interesting. However I was wrong. It does not justify to be called a museum. Apart from a few old postal service machines, there is nothing to see and nothing philatelic or about stamp collecting. It is a complete waste of time to go there

Unusual little museum

More for the person with an interest in mail history.
Small building near the main post office with a collection of the old machines used to sort and direct mail.
