My husband and I spent an afternoon shopping, cooking and eating with Pat at her cookery school and home. We chose Pats cookery school to get first hand experience of how Thai people live and eat, as opposed to going to a commercial cookery school, and we weren't disappointed. We started with a trip to the local market where Pat explained different types of fruit, vegetables and fish that were unfamiliar to us. We also picked up some of the ingredients for our lesson. Back at the cookery school we had a very hands on lesson and prepared spring rolls, hot and sour soup, green curry with chicken and banana in coconut cream. We learned how to achieve authentic Thai flavours and made our own coconut milk and coconut cream from real coconut! We ate the food in Pats house which is attached to the cookery school. Everything was delicious. Pat gave both of us a Certificate and all the recipes before we left. All in all I would highly recommend Pats cookery school for an authentic and very enjoyable experience. It has been the highlight of our trip to Phuket so far.
