We booked directly with KataThai cooking class and had a marvellous experience. Jim and Sally were very welcoming and performed an interesting show, first explaining the ingredients of the things we were going to cook and then showing how to cut, grind and mix them. After which we were led to the stoves where Jim gave a very clear explanation on how to use the wok and the pans. I will remember his hilarious exclamation of "Scoop, scoop ,scoooop scooop scoop" for the rest of my life. After preparing the dishes we were to eat them. I will never again use green or red curry paste from a jar. As the things we prepared tasted better than anything i have made before. All in all this was a coarse to be repeated as i will do next week!

Our original plans were cancelled at the very last minute, and we googled to find a replacement activity. Kata Thai Cooking Class has excellent reviews on google, so we gave Jim a call. We are very grateful that he accommodated us and waited for us to arrive before starting the class. Jim is a charismatic host. He infused humour into the lessons, and taught us how to prepare the ingredients. There were different options, depending on how spicy you like your food to be. He didn't forget the kids and kept them engaged throughout. Wonderful experience. Go for it.

That was absolutely fantastic! Tim is soo funny and communicated, making cool jokes and making the nice atmosphere. The class was in good English. Firstly we visited a local market, tried Thai weird food 😅 and see local vegetables (so strange too). It's a big recommendation to book class with the market. Then we was cooking 6 dishes instead of 3 which it said on the webside: Red curry soup, green curry soup, Tom Yam, Tom Kha, Pad Thai and mango-sticky rice. They presented us a cooking dress! Thank you so much for everything ❤️ We loved this class so muuuuch.

Jim was awesome!! He’s such a great chef and very knowledgeable about the Thai cuisine. He kept the class entertaining but informative. He made you feel like a great chef yourself! The booking process online was super easy and they’re so helpful! Pick up and drop off to hotel was also easy. I would 11/10 recommend this class to anyone going to Thailand!!

Sally and Jim are excellent hosts. I am still learning how to cook and become better and through this experience I was able to become comfortable in cooking a cuisine I have never tried before. The teaching was clear and straight to the point. Never once did I feel rushed or stressed throughout the entire experience. My favorite part was when we went to the local market and tried all the different fruits and was given a brief tour on the vegetables that Thai food is made from. I would highly recommend other foreigners to experience a new type of fun if you like FOOD. 10/10 experience and would come again the next time I am here just to see Jim and Sally.

Fantastic cooking class! Jim was a fantastic host, and the food was delightful. We learned so much and had a great time with the other guests. I’d strongly recommend the class to anyone looking to try their hand at Thai cooking. A real highlight of our trip!

Everything about this cooking class was excellent. It could not be improved on both Jim and Sally were the most hospitable hosts. Everybody enjoyed the day so much the food was incredible. The instructions were simplified. The atmosphere was wonderful due to Jim, being so outgoing and giving everybody was so impressed we could not have asked for more, by the way, Sally’s husband is better looking than Tom Cruise. Jim,Sally and their crew made us feel welcome and taught us plenty about Thai cooking. Most importantly we had lots of fun as well. I think this class transformed our perception of Phuket. It was one of the most intersting and fun activities that I did in a long time. Jim and Sally are so friendly and helpful throughout the class. Firstly you start by learning the recipe, getting to know ingredients and then do some chopping! After that it was time to cook. That was the best part of the class, the fire and passion we felt while Jim was saying “go go go mix, it will burn”.😁 The food was delicious and we made enough to eat it through the day. Jim even took us to the beach after the class because we didn’t have a ride. Definitely worth a visit!🍳🍤

Jim was a great teacher my partner and I had a blast and learnt so much. Jim cracked jokes and had the whole class in stitches. The recipes were simple to make and tasted amazing. It was great to meet people from other parts of the world also being a group class. We would highly recommend this cooking school and we will be back again next year. 😄
