- LeannieHanoi, Vietnam2,579 contributionsLush clear blue sky and green seaLoved this beach more than kata and karon beach, makmly because I didn't see a single jellyfish on this beach or in the water. We found this beach while hiring motorbikes and driving round, as such we entered the beach at the top near the motorbike parking and that was a lot of steep steps down to the beach, hopefully there is a less steep option further down the hill. Water was wonderfully clear, no snorkel mask needed to see small fish. Nice white sand, a fair few sunbeds to chill on.Visited February 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten February 12, 2024
- Navigator06742335445221 contributionsSwim with the fishes!Beautiful sandy beach with crystal clear water! This beach was our favourite out of the few we visited during our 3 week stay at Kata Noi! Plenty of sun beds available - we favoured the south end near the rocks for snorkelling with the fish. We had about 3 days of jellyfish causing a little problem with swimming, so just kept out of the water. My thoughts were, that they were here first - we are invading their home! This end of the beach is also a little quieter, with a great little fresh juice bar tucked up in the rocks under the shade of trees! A handful of small shacks dotted along this smaller sized beach, offer basic food & fresh fruit juices, as well as the beach massage to unwind with after a busy day of chilling! Unfortunately, a little rubbish here & there left by people who just don’t seem to care! A little more untidy by the steps, at the north end of the beach, but in comparison, less than other beaches we visited! We certainly felt this beach gave us the best overall vibe, as didn’t have the hustle & bustle of a larger beach! Kata Noi is a ‘no through’ small town so is much quieter than even Kata beach, the next beach up.Visited March 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten March 11, 2024
- tazzat7Tonbridge, United Kingdom746 contributionsBeautiful beachBeautiful beach, so much quieter and cleaner than Kata Beach. Great snorkeling at the southern end and also bar selling reasonably priced drinks. Snorkeling gear for hire. 2 Sunbeds and an umbrella 200 baht a day.Visited March 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten March 19, 2024
- Александр З4 contributionsNormalNice beach, we lived nearby. I was pleased with the clean water and the absence of jellyfish, although there were jellyfish on Katya). There are much fewer people than on Kata. But there is a minus: right in the middle of the beach they offer parachute and jet ski services. They occupied the middle of the beach and did not allow anyone to swim. The boat stinks of gasoline. The people are indignant.Visited March 2024Traveled with familyWritten March 25, 2024
- Olga OsorioAndalucia, Spain220 contributionsExtraordinary sunsetIt is a magnificent beach. Spacious, quiet and very clean. With fine sand, it has hammock service with umbrellas for a cheap price. Nearby restaurants. It is south of Phuket and the sunset is spectacular. Makes you want to stop time.Visited February 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten April 7, 2024
- Andrey T4 contributionsA fairly uncrowded beach that is worth a visitI've been coming to this beach for over 15 years... together with Ao San it's one of my favorite beaches in the north of the island. This time we lived on Kamala, so we only went out a couple of times. The distance of the beach from the main places of residence and some transport “inaccessibility” make it quite free from crowds of tourists; usually “visitors” settle on the right side, next to the descent from the road, to the left side, where it is best to ride the waves and the “natives” cluster together, little comes. The presence of expensive hotels in the first line has a positive effect on the cleanliness of the beach.Visited April 2024Traveled with familyWritten April 21, 2024
- NatandJRPerth, Australia40 contributionsBeautiful beach!Much quieter than Kata Beach, less sellers and the beach was clean and peaceful. You could buy cold drinks and there was the few people selling nuts and corn and few other things being sold. We hired a body board for 100 baht for an hour and 2 recliners with umbrella for 200 baht and you could stay all day on them if you wanted. We loved it!!Visited May 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten May 29, 2024
- Tony FMarcoola, Australia116 contributionsGreat beachGreat beach at the end of the road, the katathani resort basically takes up the entire beach but it’s still open to the public. Plenty of deck chairs spread along the beach front, it has a really nice relaxing atmosphere Always read the warning flagsVisited August 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten August 10, 2024
- EdgarMumbai, India82 contributionsKata Noi BeachNice stretch of beach but the upscale Katathani Hotel covers the entire beach. Access is available however for the public with lounging chairs on hire. Not much food options on the beach except a few fruit vendors. It's over the hill from the main Kata Beach. The beach used to be pretty empty a few years back with only guests of the hotel using the shores. Now it seems a bit crowded and getting like the main Kata beach. Still pleasant enough for a visit and a few hours of swimming.Visited October 2024Traveled with familyWritten October 25, 2024
- Nahid KaleemNew Delhi, India249 contributionsA Luxurious Sunset Point with amazing vibe must visitKata Noi Beach in Phuket is an absolute must-visit for beach lovers. Dining options: Limited seating and food choices, as most restaurants are attached to hotels and serve only their guests. It’s challenging to find dining spots for non-residents or locals. Luxury vibes: The beach exudes luxury and charm, perfect for those looking for a premium beach experience. Shack seating: If you want to sit in a beach shack, expect a fee of 200 Thai Baht for a two-hour stay. Stunning sunsets: The sunset here is breathtaking. It’s a scene you don’t want to miss. Atmosphere: Great crowd, with the majority being international visitors. Overall vibe: I loved everything about this beach—the views, the ambiance, and the lively yet relaxing energy.Visited November 2024Traveled with friendsWritten November 14, 2024

If there's a better beach in Thailand, I have yet to see it (in some 12 visits). The white sand has the perfect texture, and the seawater is very clear. For those not staying in the Katathani Hotel, an umbrella and two padded loungers are available for 250 baht. Occasional yellow signs warn against 'stingers in the sea during summer time'. By this, they mean jelly fish. We never saw any, and the notices may have been advised by lawyers to absolve anyone of blame if a swimmer did get stung seriously.
Because the beach is West facing, there are beautiful sunsets most nights.

If you're staying in Kata (or even Patong) and fancy a slightly quieter beach that still has all the conveniences (deckchairs and umbrellas, places to buy food and drinks), it's worth paying the 200thb to head to Kata Noi.
Now we're heading into pretty high tourist season, it's as well-maintained as it can be considering the huge numbers of tourists churning through food and drinks - there are bins pretty conveniently located. I didn't have any issues with excessive litter, and the water was cleaner than at Kata despite being pretty close.
The surf here was considerably rougher than at other wider, bigger beaches, with a sharper, steeper drop into the deep. I loved it, being used to Australian surf beaches, but I saw a lot of kids getting dumped in the waves and struggling without shallows. I'd say if you aren't a confident swimmer or used to surf beaches, this might not be a great one for paddling.

The beach at Kata Noi is highly recommended. It is not overrun with people, so everyone can find their place here. The waves can be big depending on the time of day. The water is very clean and there is absolutely no rubbish on the beach! You can rent loungers and parasols for a small fee. There is also a small stand for jet skis, banana boats, etc. If you prefer something quieter and more relaxed, this is the place for you!

Kata Noi is a beautiful beach with big waves and some nice stands offering braids, massages and drinks for fair prices. There are some sun beds to rent for 100 baht each. The only problem with this beach is the super dirty water. It was filled with plastics, strings, random decks of wood and all sorts of garbage. It was impossible to be in the water without the trash touching you every second. There’s also no available bathroom or outdoor shower to wash yourself which made it even worse.
Other than that we had a nice time sitting on the beach, tanning and relaxing since there was a great breeze of air from the ocean.
I probably won’t visit this beach again since it wasn’t the best for swimming or even dipping in the sea.

The beach is nice, not very long and the water is perfect. But as a big touristic city is nearby there always crowds on the beach. If you prefer quiter atmosphere, less people, Kata Noi is not the best choice

The beach was extremely packed and the water felt as if it’s been reused throughout the whole of Thailand; Warm, stagnant and cloudy. The sand on the other hand, even worse. It clung to me the whole day and even ended up in my hotel bed. Very unhappy with this experience, will not be returning swiftly. Avoid at all costs.

Kata Noi beach is a very beautiful beach, which explains why it’s lined with high end resorts. There are a few public access points though, for those not staying at one of those resorts. I walked here from Karon beach in about 45 minutes. Not the best walk, due to pedestrian unfriendly roads, but it’s easily doable. Bring water! Did not see any public toilets except for those at the top of the staircase at the far north end. The entire beach is very nice for photographs, but especially so at the north end. Red flags were out the day I visited, and the sea was quite rough. This is not the spot for small children. The street running parallel with the beach is lined with restaurants and shops.

Our favourite beach on Phukets west coast.
The blue shark bar on the beach has a surf vibe to it.
Nice clean water with a shallow rake so easy to swim in.
Be there by 8.30am for a front row sunlounger (2 for 200 baht)
Far less busy than its neighbour - Kata beach

Another beach you must visit if you are here in Phuket. Beautiful paradise beach with clear blue water. A few bars and beachside places still open where you can buy a cold beer or a lunchtime snack. Very peaceful and quiet when we were here in early January.

Are there beach massage vendors here? If so, what price should I expect?

Hi. I apologize I am just seeing your question. I honestly did not notice any but I was not looking for them. I literally just swam in the warm waters.

Easiest & safest way to travel from Patong to kata beach ?
Written June 27, 2018
Yes agree with other reply. Taxi tuk tuk is the best bet. Negotiate a fair price. 500baht is standard fare. Beautiful beach, worth the visit, but not to sure during monsoon season.

Hi, claireruane. What would you like to know about this attraction? Hi Nonlaphan68, We have been to Kata Thani hotel twice before and to Thailand many times but I have never found a better beach on Phuket, looking to book for April next year and interested to know which beaches you think are better than Kata Noi? Thanks
