A Morning with the Elephants at Phuket Elephant Sanctuary

47 reviews
Phuket Elephant Sanctuary is the first and only ethical elephant sanctuary in Phuket where elephants roam around, bathe and sozialize freely across 30 acres of lush, tropical land bordering the Khao Phra Thaeo National Park in North East Phuket. We buy all rescued elephants to ensure that Phuket Elephant Sanctuary is their final home, and we offer professional veterinary care for old and injured elephants. By visiting us, you are supporting a sustainable, ethical and compassionate approach to elephant tourism where elephants have the freedom to live naturally. National Geographic, Lonely Planet and The Guardian have all endorsed our ethical approach.

This was fun for both me and my 2 year old daughter. It was a hot day but there are areas of shade on the 18 hole course. Most holes are par 2. I was able to achieve 2 hole in ones! The dinosaurs were interesting for my daughter and the gardens and waterfall and caves were beautiful. There are some areas where you have to walk on rocks around water, so wear good shoes. The cost was 240 baht, about 12 Aussie dollars, and no credit cards accepted. We didn't eat at the bar and restaurant as this was a bit pricey.

Courses are great even the price is higher than other common things to do but we would love it there if we didn't have any visitors who kept walking and running on the courses backwards and forwards. 3 non playing families were there. They were walking about on our course and taking photos with the dinosaurs, also children moved our golf balls. They didn't look they had any idea about what we were doing. I found the staff let anyone in to have a look. We couldn't enjoy as much as we should. If you are unlucky you might have such people during your play.

I'll never go back to dinosaurs park and advise all my friend not to vist . I was looking forward to visiting this park with my children and 4 grand children we payed our entrance fee to play a round of golf ,one of the grand children was only 8 month old they didn't tell as that we couldn't take the stroller in when we payed only once we started the course so I had to carry her around as it's not safe for small children missing the game with the kids , so once they finnished I thought I would now play my round but they would not let me have my round of golf and refused to refund me my money for my game .tThen started yelling abuse at me and if I don't leave they would bash me .My family and I were horrified by there language and abuse and this was from 3 women that worked at the park entrance. It made our holiday very horrible and disappointing experience.

This place looks fantastic; Nice dino zig-zag routes with waterfalls in jungle style. Except the fact that it is well-designed, there is no organization. During the check-in the two girls behind the desk were talking to each other and not giving attention to the guests, after paying the bill of 480 baht for 2p. they resumed their conversation. So no explanation about the game/where to go to, etc. Also the organization of the 18 holes is sh*t. Plenty of games were on 1 game field and people were walking through the game. If the structure is being modified, I think it's a pretty nice game to play. But for now it's really bad. After giving your money for playing the game, you feel like you don't exist anymore. You just feel like the 240 baht you just gave them.
