I have been to Thailand many times and always do something different. So I perused all the cooking classes in Phuket on the net and found Miss Chel's. Hers looked like a real kitchen not a hotel restaurant kitchen. Her class menus were extensive could choose one of 5 different menus that we liked to eat. And it was the best value for money. Choices included shorter days and fewer dish choices and well as 5-6hr days and more extensive menu choices. Cost ranges from 1600 baht to 1900. There is also an evening class with 3 dishes of your choice for 1200 baht but no market tour.
We were picked up on time from our hotel (0900) and taken to the fresh market where Miss Chel was waiting for us. We went around and discussed all the various elements and contents of Thai food-very informative and interesting. After about 40 minutes we headed up to her Jungle Restaurant hideaway. A gorgeous little restaurant on the side of a hill looking out with ocean views, surrounded by her lovely garden which we could wander during our break. Exceptionally clean and tidy. Cleanliness before and during cooking is a must.
We opted for menu number 5. Which was 5 different dishes including green curry paste from scratch, the dishes included; spring rolls, pad thai, tom yum soup, green chicken curry and sticky rice and mango. Recipes are adapted to your diet requirements also. We had a no fish or nuts for our class. Chicken or shrimp were substituted for fish and peanuts were omited from the Pad Thai completely.
We all had our own section and ingredients. Miss Chel first demonstrated then we got to taste hers thus working out how hotter or less hot/spicy to make ours. We ate what we made and it was amazing Thai food. Miss Chel is a very practical teacher who obviously loves what she does and shares her passion for good food. She has a real funny sense of humour. All recipes are emailed to you after the class, minimum of 2 persons per class. We had 5 in our own group which was a really cool group activity in itself for friends to share in.
The cooking school also doubles as a restaurant which we went back to for dinner one night...very nice.
I would highly recommend Miss Chel's cooking classes and can't wait to go back and try class number 6.
Thank you Miss Chel I will be definitely be making these dishes at home for my family.

This was an amazing class! My son and I had such a fun time with instructor. I highly recommend this class, we made mango sticky rice, green curry and many more in about 4 hours. We had a lovely sit down lunch enjoying our feast. I can't wait to go back so I can take another class with Chel ! So fun, funny, and super informative. We even got a recipe book sent by whatsapp afterwards.

We had a wonderful 2 person class. We had preselected our three choices. Chel’s husband picked us up at our hotel. School is libel, up in the hills on the way to the Big Buddha. Chel’s Style of demonstrating first, having you taste her dish and then making your own was very effective. You eat each dish separately after producing. Perfect amount of food. Definitely would suggest this as an evening event!

A true highlight of our trip to Phuket! Miss Chel was quick to respond and planning via What's App/website was seamless. Picked up at our hotel (4 of us) and met Miss Chel at the market - a great experience to visit and pick up ingredients for our morning of cooking. Then, back in the van and up the winding road to the open/airy perch where the cooking class takes place - with jungle views of the surrounding hills of palms, banana & papaya trees & a glimpse the sea in the distance. Beautiful!

A wok and station for each of us and clear instructions....we sat down after making each of the 4 dishes to enjoy (and pace ourselves!). Miss Chel is lovely, warm, hospitable and a great teacher. Between courses, she took us through her garden (lemongrass, pea eggplants, bananas, herbs) and up to a huge cashew tree to show us the nuts and what they look like before they're harvested/dried/roasted.

A wonderful experience learning to cook Thai dishes in an authentic, natural setting away from tourists and crowds. As another reviewer noted - this is a hidden gem of a cooking school. Truly a magical experience for all of us.

Thank you, Miss Chel!

This was most definitely a top highlight of our trip! My dad and I are out in Thailand visiting my brother for a couple of weeks and he booked us this lesson in Phuket. It was absolutely fantastic. Chel collected us from our Villa and took us to one of the local markets and showed us around and explained a lot of the local produce, lots of which was new to us. She then took us up to her little place to start the cooking. Her knowledge and skills were incredible and she explained everything to us. We cooked spring rolls, sweet and sour pork and chicken massaman and deep fried banana. All dishes were out of this world. So much flavour. The surrounding views were breathtaking and it felt so peaceful.
Chel also took us to have a look around the gardens where lots of the produce is grown.
I would recommend this class to anyone and wish I lived close enough to visit again soon!
Thanks Chel and her team :)

We looked at Miss Chels website and contacted her through there but also on WhatsApp. We were glad we did because she told us later she is having problems with the site and asked people to contact her through WhatsApp.
We booked the evening class and was picked up on time by her driver at 18.00 and taken to her home and restaurant. We were greeted and given a bottle of water and time to relax. Miss Chel then took us to the cooking station where she explained she uses many ingredients grown in her own garden. We prepared spring rolls and papaya salad which we then ate at our table . We then had 10 minutes before preparing our main course , green curry. All the instructions were again really good.
We had a great evening and would highly recommend Miss Chel.

We had a very enjoyable evening learning to cook Thai food with Miss Chel. In a beautiful mountain setting at her outdoor kitchen, we cooked 3 lovely meals.  The satay chicken with peanut sauce and Pad Thai were absolutely delicious and will be staples when we get back home and the green chicken curry was nice too. Miss Chel was very engaging and a great teacher and all the family enjoyed the experience and we would recommend to others.

If you are at all interested in thai cooking and want to have a good time, this is the place for you!

We were picked up at our hotel, the service was already at this point super friendly. The scenery from where the cooking class is held is beautiful and the space was open and easy to work in.

We chose the class with four dishes. After each dish was made, we ate. After two dishes we went to the local market. We get to see, smell and taste so many different ingridients used in the thai kitchen. If possible, book your class on a Monday or Thursday, so that you get to go to the bigger, better market that is only open on these days.

After the market we made the two last dishes. I suggest you don’t eat anything before the class, because theres gonna be a lot of delicious food!

I had such a great time cooking with Chel. She is the most lovely person and takes really good care of her customers. She is also a great teacher, and most of all a brilliant cook. Everything about this class was well organized and really worth your money. I would love to visit Chel’s cooking class again. I promise this is the best cooking class you will find!

Got a chance to get a cooking class with miss Chel. And all what I can say, that it was just wonderful! :) She’s so friendly, funny and good hearted woman! Simply sweetheart:) In few hours we learned how to cook spring rolls, Pad Thai, Tom Yum and seafood curry, and it was the best Thai food we tried in Thailand, haha. Because she’s so professional and detailed.

If you’re looking for a cooking class in Phuket with a professional chef and clean place, I definitely recommend to choose miss Chel’s one and you’ll never regret!
Thanks a lot again, Chel! You’re amazing ! :)🙏🏼
