We have only good things to say about this incredible dive experience with Chantal and Cor. In fact, in retrospect we regret not having arranged to do our Scuba Diver certification with them. This was our third time scuba diving and we signed up to do two introductory dives. The two of us dived with Cor who provided us with safety and technical reminders and tips. We felt extremely comfortable and safe diving with them. The second dive site (Morphy) was incredible!!! Both Cor and Chantal speak completely fluent English. They are also very responsive via email and were accommodating as we arranged our dives last minute.

Great team, well-maintained equipment (like new) and an exceptional choice for experienced scuba divers as well as beginners.

Do you look for great diving spots in the Caribbean, wrecks, secret reefs in good shape with a wealth of fish, corals and sponges? Or for competent scuba instructors to teach you scuba diving in cool places? Cor and Chantal are the perfect choice for both. They show you the greatest places, help with worthy tips for photography and underwater video and - for our beginners - get you trained according to the highest standards to ensure that you develop proper skills to enjoy the world down below.

Instantly, you feel part of the team, regardless of where you are coming from. French, Dutch, German, English? No problem, they speak your language and the briefings are fun.

We'll be back!

Best dive shop in Deshaies/Pointe-Noire! The owners Cor (speaks English German Dutch etc) and Chantelle (speaks English and French) we’re kind, fun, and informative. A very personalized experience since they keep the grouos small. I was planning on diving once and ended up going on 6 dives with them. I highly recommend them. They are also great instructors, a woman was getting certified while I was there snd Chantelle was so patient and clear with her.

Cor and his wife habe a small dive shop that kindly offered us a dive rather spontaneously, after another dive center canceled our dives on short notice. The weather wasn’t really good, however the dive experience was great because of Cor‘s chilled and relaxed attitude. One of the most relaxing dives we had! The equipment was also very good and the communication went well (German, English, Dutch, Turkish and of course French). Definitely recommend! Next time on Guadeloupe will book again!

We went for one dive with this small dive shop. The weather wasn't perfect on that day but the reef at Morphy was still pretty and Cor and Chantal are very nice and relaxed. We can definitely recommend this dive base!

Another 2 weeks diving experience with Cor and Chantal. And again an excellent experience !
During our stay we can dive on La reserve Cousteau, Franjack and do a nice night dive :)
And as the last time we enjoy doing phot during our dive with Cor. And I appreciate a lot his comments to help me to progress.
In short an excellent place to dive! I strongly recommend.

Very friendly instructors, very good equipment. Everything was well organized! We called Cor the evening before the dive and answered us. So we could go, they only take a few divers, so we were lucky! We went on a simple, but nice boat. The dive sights are close to the dive shop.

I did my first dive and PADI Open Water Diver training with Cor and Chantal and couldn't have made a better choice. I felt very well looked after and comfortable. The two of them know top dive spots and bring out the best diving experience for everyone - whether beginner or pro. A wonderful experience, I will definitely be back. 10 out of 10 recommendation!

Back from our third trip to Guadeloupe thanks to direct flights by Norwegian Air. It is so affordable (below $200 round-trip) and convenient (just little bit more then 3 hours direct flight from Boston or NY) that we consider to go again and again even for a few days.
This time we went back to Cor and Chantal at Les Baillantes Tortues to get our Advanced open water certification.
Between two of them it was very pleasant and informative learning experience. We also made several dives just to enjoy The Coral Garden, Monarch, Pigeon Island and many other dive sites.
Cor keeps his boat in impeccable shape. My wife is very sensitive to gas fumes but no complaints whatsoever. It has enough room for 8 divers so it is never overcrowded like other boats we see there.
Most of the divers are coming back to dive with Cor and Chantal year after year after year.
Despite difficulty to remember the French name of the dive shop (meaning simply the Big Turtle and you see them there!) we highly recommend to dive with Les Baillantes Tortues.
Don't forget to ask Chantal about local restaurants and food recommendations! They both speak English (and French and German and Dutch) and will be glad to give you advice about best things in Guadeloupe - waterfalls, sulfur baths, vulcano, best beaches, best places to eat fish and to try real creole food wich is quite different from fried and dried food on other Caribbean Island.
Have fun and come for more.
We will be glad to meet with you on Les Baillantes Tortues boat for the next dive!

Les Baillantes Tortues is a small diving dive center on the west cost of Basse Terre island. I had my first ever diving experience with Les Baillantes Tortues and I did my PADI open water diver course with them.

I read the PADI book before the actual dives and did the exercises in the book, so I had some basic knowledge before going diving with Les Baillantes Tortues and I recommend you do the same if you are a first timer. The introductory dive was pretty much straight to the business and to the water without too much theory or other explanations. I was OK with that, but I don't mind trying new sports without much earlier experience.

The dive locations were nice - at least to a first timer - and there was plenty to see in the locations we went to : dolphins, rays, moray eels, lions fishes, turtles just to mention some.

All in all it was a good experience and I recommend this dive center if you are staying nearby.
