Port Olry is truly one of the most beautiful tropical beaches I've ever seen. The colour of the water is remarkable - almost milky close to shore, and crystal clear around the smaller islands. Very calm water. Good snorkelling around the offshore islands, which are easily accessed by kayak - you can even walk to one at low tide! Bring your own snorkel gear. The land and facilities are owned by Kustom owners - so great to be supporting the villagers. This is a peaceful fishing village, with just one (soon to be 2) restaurants, and no shops. Come for the beauty, stay for the serenity and the people.

Nice beach for swimming. Definitely a must see place. If you go to one place in Espirato Santo go here. You will not regret it. Make sure that you go on a sunny day with good weather. You will need transport as it is along way from the main town.

Port Olry is basically Champagne Beach's big brother. Only 10 mins drive north from Champagne Beach, Port Olry Beach is bigger, has more facilities, but lacks the intimacy of Champagne Beach. It is hard to choose between the two, so why not spoil yourself and spend time in them both.

Port Orly beach is located at the northern end of the east coast of Espiritu Santo in Vanuatu. It’s a glorious beach, with white sand and crystal clear water. We spent a couple of hours here as part of a day tour from Luganville. It was a beautiful day, hot and sunny – we swam and snorkelled here and really loved our time here. The water is spectacular and so is the snorkelling and sometimes the turtles will join you in your swim. Food that we ordered at the only café in Port Orly was very disappointing though I hear that the coconut crab is excellent. If you are visiting Espiritu Santo don’t miss the east coast beaches.

This beach was just beautiful. The water was so clear, it was perfect for snorkelling and swimming. When i visited this beach the water was so clear i was swimming with the fish! Then when i thought it was the best it could be someone spotted a wild turtle and before i knew it i was swimming over the top of it! One of the most amazing experiences ever!

The view was amazing and the cafe there had the most delicious food, if i went back to Vanuatu i would certainly go back there.
Trust me it does not get better than this!

lovely natural beach alongside the village ,really spectacular scenery of nearby islands ,and clear water to laze in ..A choice of 3 restaurants (run by the local families from the village) offering cheap and amazing seafood..AND unlike nearby Champagne Beach , ( who charge 2000vatu ,AUD$25 per car), if you eat at the restaurants they don't charge you an "entry site fee". We spent 3 leisurely hours walking ,swimming and dining...Plan to spend the day there...

This is one of the most beautiful beaches I have ever seen! And I think the water may be as blue as the water in the Bahamas!

Highly recommend visiting this beach over Champagne Beach it is free and more beautiful. There is also some good snorkelling spots not too far off.

We also had a lovely lunch on the beachfront.

It is about 62km from Luganville. We hired a car for the day to visit the beaches along the east coast.

We visited Port Olry and a few other places on Santo a while back on a cruise and we could only spend a short time there so we decided to hire a car and take the drive up again while staying in Luganville for 4 nights. It's 60 klms from Luganville and the end of the sealed road.
We had a fantastic lunch at the Little Paradise Restaurant (also called the Port Olry Harbour Beach Restaurant) of both coconut crab and lobster, served with rice and salad. The food was so fresh and really cheap compared to prices in Vila. We noticed another little eatery had opened just down the beach since our last visit. We saw a large turtle just off the shore while having lunch and watched the local fishermen bring their nets in. Very relaxing and the swim after lunch was great. Stunning water colour and temp. Later we went for a walk up the beach to the local school, accompanied by a couple of pigs a small herd of cattle, and one very large bull.
Port Olry is a very beautiful spot, well worth a visit for a meal and a swim. If staying in Luganville, do the car hire thing, drive up the coast and visit the Blue Holes, Champagne Beach and Port Olry, all do-able in a day. Then book a Snorkelling, Fishing or Dugong watching tour with Fabrice (Island Fishing Santo) and you will have a couple of fantastic days).
We are planning a trip back to Santo next year and will look into the rustic little huts available for accommodation at Port Olry, just for a couple of nights. They remind us of where we stayed on Tanna a few years ago.

We stayed for 2 nights at Port Olry at the Serenity Beach Bungalows. The accommodation was great (we had one night in a bungalow- very modern and comfortable, and one night in the big tree house- pretty cool experience and it is RIGHT on the beach). The host Angelic is lovely.
Port Olry beach is just beautiful and uncrowded. We really enjoyed sea kayaking out to the islands and snorkeling. We saw quite a few turtles while we were there too.
We were a bit worried about transport to Port Olry after reading some reviews and ended up getting quite overcharged by a private tour operator on the way there. You can easily offer a taxi in Luganville 5000-6000 Vt to take you there- the road is in excellent condition.

Port Orly is an easy drive from Luganville up the east coast (past Hog Bay). The beach is pristine, waters crystal and stunning. The beach is more exposed to the ocean elements and some folks we conversed with, preferred this more open beach to Champagne Bay or Turtle Bay. Quality sand front cafe's dot the beachfront offering the famous and fabulous "Coconut Crab Curry". Worth the effort to come, another stunning area of Santo.
