An unforgettable experience!!!! Beautiful horses, fantastic environment and the super professional organization made the vacation really special!!!! A big thanks to Jimmy, a very nice guide, who took us to wonderful places that otherwise we would not have been to see

A really good idea to spend your free time with the possibility of communing with beautiful nature.Calm horses, the owners are kind. Beautiful place, i would highly recommend!

My family and I had a mornings tour with Caribe. Our family had a wonderful time. The horses were really looked after and Jimmy was an amazing guide. He was exceptionally patient with my young sons who had a bit of a wobble but soon got us all moving. Throughout the morning Jimmy led us on a wonderfully picturesque tour and throughout was able to point out lots of animals and birds.
This really was a wonderful morning and I would recommend it to anyone.

Booked through our hotel (Aguas Claras)--wonderful experience. Jimmy was a great guide--gave very clear instructions and was very patient with my young teen daughter and myself (both of us have limited riding experience). Enjoyed chatting with him while taking a break at the halfway point (he kindly answered all of our questions about the horses, the area, Costa Rica in general and took some pictures for us as well!). The stretch of beach and jungle covered is lovely, even on a cloudy/slightly rainy day (saw many birds and Jimmy is great at sloth-spotting), and also appreciated the chance to get off the main road and see more of the hillside community on the way to/from the stable. Highly recommended--would do this again if we returned.

First time horse riding along a beautiful beach

As a first timer on a horse the explanations were a bit scarce. The 90min tour from 3pm to 4.30pm was very lovely though. Unlike the other comments we did not get to speak with him much, which was a bit disappointing.

Great Guide, Happy Horses

We booked this experience through our hotel, Aguas Claras, and we enjoyed it immensely. Riding along the beach and through the forest alternately was refreshing, but watch out for low-hanging branches! Our guide, Raul, was amazing and loves horses. All of his horses are rescues, and through love and care, they learn to live and trust again, which is truly touching. The horses are very well-behaved, excellently cared for, and were suitable to those of us with limited experience.

Helmets are available upon request.

Great guide, stunning views

Great experience for our family! 2.5hr tour. Raul was an amazing guide and with the help of his son also we felt very safe and cared for. It was a lovely relaxing way to enjoy the stunning Caribbean coast. Horses are very loved and well taken care of. Raul had lots of great stories and knows tons both about horses and the area! Definitely recommend Raul as your guide, thank you!

Wonderful Experience!

My friend and I enjoyed the 2.5 hour beach/jungle ride which I recommend for those with some riding experience. We stopped halfway through the trip for a break and bottle of water. Raul was an experienced, gentle, and kind tour guide. He has been working with horses all of his life and understands the personality and ability of each horse and matches the rider accordingly. The ride travels through a beautiful stretch of beach and jungle and was very enjoyable with just three in our group. I definitely recommend Caribe! Thank you, Raul!!

We loved it!

One of the best ways to see the local scenery. My wife and I have visited Puerto Viejo 3 times and this was such a highlight. Caribe Horse rescue and rehabilitation center is truly for horse lovers. They take great care of their animals and are genuine.
We took a private tour and we loved it! We did the beach and jungle. We went pretty far out towards Punta Uva. We saw monkeys and sloths and other beautiful wildlife while walking.
The horses were fit to our experience level. This was nice because we honestly love being able to have a little fun. We got to run a little with them. I would have liked to have been able to run and play with them a little more but the beach was full of a lot of people. My horse Polar was so good. Listened and minded my every move. I easily could have taken him out on my own no problem.
Our guide Jimmy was fantastic. He was informative and had a love for the area like we do. It was nice to be able to talk about the old days and ways when we visited 5 years ago and what’s all changed. He spoke great English but let me practice my Spanish as well. I appreciate that since I don’t get to use it much.
Over all I would highly recommend this for anyone looking for a bit of adventure.
We trotted through the waves at the shoreline, along a jungle trail and even stopped for a rest and gave the horses some shade and a snack.
